The morons are going backwards. Used to recharge for 2 day unlimited data for Rs.55 on BSNL EDVO in case of excessive data need. Now, they have block the recharge even before payment page, ’It’s not a valid BSNL recharge’. Freecharge didn’t have the plans earlier, recharged once and got Rs.50 as balance complained to freecharge but no use.

I am stuck at this, last try then I will buy new data card or sim if that is the issue.
Anyone else who bought regular bsnl CDMA sim managed to run 1X without activating EVDO? I am concerned because it’s giving me error 678 is it hardware failure or network issue?
Got a friends evdo and that worked in a click. Used for 5 minutes giving 500+ kbps DL speed in room.
Please help.

Update:
Some how i managed to get Demo for Bsnl Evdo yesterday at 11:15 Am
I am getting full network at my home (i.e five network bars) but the speed was pathetic . The whole time during the test it never crossed 40 KBps ( 500 kbps ) . The modem which was used for testing purpose was Zte Ac 8700 modem which was having an inbuilt antenna.
So now i am confused 2-3 years back i use to get 30 KBps speed from 2g net . So should i go for it or i should look for alternatives like bsnl broadband or reliance 3g 6gb for Rs. 400 like plans.

For some reason I am not getting all the tagged notifications. Hence missed your query. That modem is not reliable. If you are getting 5 bars, the daytime speed should be around 80-100 kBps.

Yes Even i haven’t received tagged Notification.

Thank guys after measuring all the pro & cons today I bought bsnl evdo sim.
They ( representative of bsnl) said it will be activated till tomorrow.
I have ordered ZTE ac 2766 dongle from eBay. Here is the link
www.ebay.in/itm/ZTE-MTS-AC2766-Unlock-CDMA-EVDO...
It shall reach me In a week. I am super excited to taste the blood of unlimited Internet with broadband speeds, but there are few doubts remaining in my mind. It will be really helpful if anyone from you guys clear them too.
1. Do I need to do tele verification of address before the sim will be activated because when I asked them which number to call for tele verification they said you don’t need to it on evdo sim.
2. They gave me two bills of Rs. 40 & 350 respectively. So when my number is activated I just have to recharge it with Rs. 21 for 6 months validity & Rs. 55 for 2 days unlimited data. Or I have to recharge it with some Frc
3. As I am totally new to CDMA Evdo thing I have no device to check whether my number is activated or not ( As I have ordered a used mts dongle so not sure if I just insert evdo sim and I will get the network on the dashboard without any hassle ) so is there a way to know weither the sim is activated or not like calling the evdo sim from other number ( like now it’s saying please check the number and dial again but after activation it should say the dialed number is switched off).
@thrifty_indian Taging you for help
My friend have a Mts dongle ZTE ac 2746 which have inbuild sim slot here’s the picture
So can you help me to unlock it and then make it use able for bsnl evdo sim like you posted for ZTE ac 2766 dongle.

1- No tele verification is required.
2- Bill of 40 Rs. is for Sim card and 350 Rs. for activation charge. Sim’s validity will be initially for 1 month after that you have to recharge with validity pack. After activation of the sim you have to recharge with data pack.
3- When you got network then you can check the activation status by calling(incoming/outgoing).
Note:- Personally i will recommend you to buy Modem from BSNL it will costs you Rs1200 and you haven’t pay 350 Rs (Sim activation charge). I am using Prithvi Modem from last 2.5 Years and haven’t faced any issue.

Even my first choice was to buy the prithvi ue100 but they don’t have stocks for any dongle and I was offered ZTE ac 8700 model from 3rd party so I choose not to buy from them. Thanks for quick reply kg bro.

That is not a sim slot. The sim slot can be installed there by a local repair shop if you wish. But I won’t recommend.
P.S> Still didn’t get the notification for the tag.

FYI the STV price has been changed to 842 due to recent increase of 0.5% Service Tax. Please don’t try to recharge with 838, it will fail.

If you are not getting full signal then that signal booster should help or if there are too many users in your area then you can nothing.

Rev B. is limited to very very confined space. If you are sure that you are covered then you have to buy a different modem which supports Rev B. like the one MTS provides. But AFAIK those dongles can’t be unlocked as of yet.
Any one here using rail net rrom Jharkhand/Bihar?
