Jio has announced its Soundbox device for UPI Payments in India. Paytm, Google Pay, and PhonePe already have their Soundboxes installed at various merchant outlets so it is to see what this new UPI Soundbox platform has to offer!

The Jio Soundbox is integrated into the JioPay app for UPI payments as seen in its trials. It will be rolled out soon commercially. Merchants are expected to receive welcome benefits like no transaction fees, free Jio Soundbox, attractive Incentives, and more.

Earlier when Paytm Payments Bank was banned by the RBI, Jio tried to enter into this space but it didn’t happen. Now, with the Jio Soundbox its interest into the digital wallets industry is evident.

Amongst new features, the Jio Soundbox is rumored to have a display screen as well which is not seen in any other Soundbox devices. This screen will show transaction logs along with payee details like name, UPI id, etc.
