Filipino man who tested positive, then negative, dies in Mumbai
A man identified as a citizen of the Philippines succumbed to renal failure and respiratory distress in Mumbai. The man initially tested positive for Covid-19 and was shifted from Kasturba hospital to a private healthcare facility where he tested negative the second time around.
Be serious: PM Modi tweets on coronavirus lockdown, urges people to save themselves
Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned people to take the countrywide lockdown seriously. “Please save yourself and your family,” tweeted the PM.
F*ck
Now it’ll spread like fire
The Ministry of Health also confirmed that the death of a Philippines national in Mumbai was not due to coronavirus but kidney failure, although the patient did test positive later.
The patient could’ve died due to COVID-19 as Kidney failure is a very common complication of ARDS (fluid building up in lungs)
Dunno how they confirmed that COVID-19 is not the case when the patient tested postive for the virus
No
COVID-19 suspects testing -ve to be isolated
Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Monday said coronavirus suspects who have tested negative for COVID-19 will now be kept in isolation for 14 days, as per the Centre’s new precautionary advisory.
Speaking to reporters, Tope said earlier people who tested negative were kept in isolation wards for seven days only.
“As per the Centres fresh advisory, these patients will be kept in isolation for 14 days. The revised advisory is meant for more safety from the states side,” he said.
At present, six coronavirus testing laboratories are functional in the state and the government is trying to use them to their optimal capacity, said the minister.
“I have been told that all the government-run medical colleges across the state will also have testing laboratories from March 27,” he added.
The number of Covid-19 patients has jumped by 15 in one day, but those without any travel history who got the infections are the close relatives of the coronavirus positive patients, he said. “It is not a community transmission,” he said.
Asked about citizens crowding roads despite the enforcement of CrPC Section 144, Tope said, “We will have to use force and initiate legal action against violators. We do not want to take such tough decision, as we want to trust people. We expect people to cooperate with us.”
AIIMS to shut down OPD from March 24
In what will be a huge crisis for patients other than those diagnosed with the coronavirus, in Delhi, AIIMS has issued an order to shut down OPD, including speciality services, all new and follow up patients’ registration from March 24 till further orders. The premier institute had earlier decided to temporarily suspend routine walk-in OPD registration of patients from March 23 as it redirects its resources to control the Covid-19 outbreak.
“It has now been decided that all OPD services including speciality services, all new and follow up patients’ registration in AIIMS hospital and all centres will remain closed from March 24 till further orders,” the new circular on Monday said.
On Friday, the AIIMS had issued a circular postponing all nonessential elective procedures and surgeries and directed for only emergency life-saving surgeries with effect from March 21.
The Union Health Ministry has asked hospitals and medical education institutes to procure sufficient number of ventilators and high-flow oxygen masks and advised them to decrease gatherings on their respective premises.
Seems to be one escaped. Just 1499 now
How it is not affecting them, how China is saying zero new cases. What they have done
What is it for? Are you a doctor?
Curfew imposed in Maharashtra.
Too late for MH
1/10: Avoid shipped packages/gas pumps/shopping carts/ATMs or you’ll die.
Wrong.
Coronavirus surface survival is one thing; that surface causing an infection is another. Wash your hands; live your life
2/10: You can catch COVID-19 from ordering takeout food/Chinese food (or the packaging of food).
Wrong.
COVID-19 is a droplet related infection (like flu) not a food-borne infection (like salmonella etc.). There is no documented COVID risk with take-out food.
3/10: Going into a sauna for 20 min can kill more than 90% of viruses, including coronavirus.
Wrong.
There are no scientific trials to suggest the validity of this claim. On the contrary, saunas can cause pneumonias, folliculitis, etc. Read below:
4/10: If you lose your sense of smell, you have COVID.
FALSE.
It’s common to temporarily lose one’s sense of smell with many viral infections/allergies. It’s a non-specific symptom that may or may not happen with COVID.
5/10: Taking hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin preemptively is a good idea to prevent COVID.
Wrong.
These (experimental) drugs for coronavirus should only be used in selected COVID patients. They can sometimes cause fatal heart rhythm problems plus other side effects.
6/10: I receive messages that using garlic/lemon with hot water/onion in the room will prevent or cure COVID-19. Is it true?
No, it’s just made up stuff.
None of these substances have been scientifically tested against COVID. Don’t share such posts; they create confusion.
7/10: Our governor has declared a state of emergency. It must mean that we are all dying…
Wrong.
The state of emergency is more of a legal than a medical standard. It allows governments to access more resources (like federal funds) and personnel (like the national guards).
8/10: Always change your clothes/shower after coming home. Or you will bring coronavirus to your family.
Wrong.
Cleanliness is a virtue; paranoia isn’t. Let’s not scare people. Our biggest return on investment is in handwashing, staying 6 feet away, avoiding large crowds, etc.
9/10: But the messages I receive are from doctors in China/Italy. Why shouldn’t I believe them?
False.
Real doctors publish their research in scientific journals, not on social media. Lots of good research is already published. Let’s not fuel misinformation.
10/10: That’s it, folks. Let me get back to work, where doctors and nurses, these heroes, are dealing with some really tough situations. RT if you’d like me to share some of their triumphs and trials with you next time. Good luck all. We shall cross this bridge together.
So I’m hearing many myths about #COVID-19 and would like to quickly clear the record.
Coronavirus will go away in Sumer months.
Wrong. Previous pandemics didn’t follow weather patterns plus as we enter summer, there will be winter in the Southern Hemisphere. Virus is global.
Myth #2: In summer, the virus will spread more due to mosquito bites.
Wrong. This infection is spread via respiratory droplets, not blood. Mosquitos don’t increase spread.
Myth #3: If you can hold your breath for ten seconds without discomfort, you don’t have COVID.
Wrong: Most young patients with Coronavirus will be able to hold their breaths for much longer than 10 seconds. And many elderly without the virus won’t be able to do it.
Myth #4: Since COVID testing is unavailable, we should donate blood. The blood bank will test for it.
No blood bank is testing for Coronavirus so this attempt will fail. Blood donation is a sacred exercise; let’s make sure we are motivated by the right reasons.
Myth #5: Coronavirus lives in the throat. So drink lots of water so the virus is pushed into the stomach where the acid will kill it.
Virus may gain entry via throat but it penetrates into the host cells. You can’t wash it away. Excessive water will make you run to the toilet.
Myth #6: All this social distancing is an over reaction. You’ll see that the virus won’t cause much damage.
If we don’t see many infections (I hope) it actually will prove that social distancing worked. Not that the virus was never a big deal.
Myth #7: Car accidents kill 30,000 people annually. What’s the big deal with COVID-19?
Car accident are not contagious, their fatalities don’t double every three days, they don’t cause mass panic or a market crash.
Myth #8: Hand sanitizers are better than soap and water.
Wrong. Soap and water actually kills and washes away the virus from skin (it can not penetrate our skin cells) plus it also cleans visible soiling if hands. Don’t worry if Purrell was sold out at your supermarket.
Myth #9: One of the best strategies to prevent COVID-19 is to clean every door knob in your home with disinfectants.
Wrong. Hand washing/maintaining 6ft distance is best practice. Unless you’re caring for a COVID patient at home, your home surfaces should not be a big risk.
Myth #10: COVID-19 was deliberately spread by (depending upon your politics) the American or Chinese military.
Really???
That’s it folks. Be well. Be kind. Have faith. See you on the other side. This too shall pass.
Reliance employees who earn less than ₹30,000 will be paid twice a month in the wake of Coronavirus

Commendable . Hope people criticizing Indian billionaires can appreciate this gesture from Ambani’s and Tata’s
@saymyname78 kindly do not spread such information. Using such medication without guidance can have fatal implications. Government approved such medication as of now only for high risk patients as a last resort, that too only when a medical practitioner recommends it to be used on a patient. One cannot simply stock these at home and just pop them in casually if they feel by themselves that they might have symptoms related to coronavirus. It needs certain number test to be confirmed and then proper measures taken to get cured.
https://www.mohfw.gov.in/pdf/Advisoryontheuseof...
Read it carefully , not everything is misinformation .
And mind it these medications will be tough to get when dire situation comes , better to be safe than sorry .
Bhai, stop conspiracy theories and provide only facts and very reliable information.
BTW why is he beating a utensil ??
Any government donation portal for covid19??
My uncle who lives downstairs said he has seen an ambulance 3 houses away from our home (corner house of the street), on enquiry with police stationed there it seems one of their family member recently returned from Singapore and all 5 of their family has been taken away to hospital (mixed opinions, some say they tested positive and some say the tests are awaited).
Just a while ago, a police patrol vehicle approached another home in our lane (just 2 houses away on opposite side). While the police were going away I had a chat with them, it seems a person in their home recently returned from Dubai and was advised home quarantine for 14 days but this person instead has been roaming around freely. It seems police received multiple complaints from people and so they were here to warn him along with a collector notice. The police have been taking this up seriously and it’s good to know.
Not enough.. whatever they’re doing
If whatever action here is based on user complaints then we are doomed
They need to force mandatory quarantine (Guess they will do it after a month or two after things get out of control?) for all these people and set them free only if they test negative (there’s still a possibility of test report not being accurate for one trail but the failure rate is minimal)
Airborne spread of Covid-19 not reported: WHO
Airborne spread of COVID-19 has not been reported so far and it is transmitted mostly through respiratory droplets and close contact, Regional Director of WHO South-East Asia Dr Poonam Khetarpal Singh said on Monday.
Her comments came in the backdrop of rumours about air borne transmission of the novel coronavirus doing rounds on social media.
Bro, Don’t trust WHO. Not trying to sound cool or anything. The reason why this came this far is because of Tedros. They hid and licked Chinese boots and made the other countries complacent.
Mumbaikars may soon be able to get tested at home for coronavirus
n the next two days, home tests will be introduced in Mumbai for those having symptoms and wanting to get tested for coronavirus, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said Monday.
A helpline will be launched in 48 hours, where citizens, who suspect that they are infected, can call to book a test. A representative from a private lab will go to the patient’s home for the tests.
In a statement, the BMC said that it is “beginning the home testing facilities with a helpline number where citizen can reach out. This facility will begin in next 48 hours. Currently, calls are being made to the home quarantine travellers and if symptomatic, testing facilities are offered through private labs registered with Indian council of medical research (ICMR).”
The BMC said it will also seek stipulated guidelines from ICMR for the home testing process. The home tests are being introduced to ensure that people do not come out of their house for getting themselves tested.
Great news if true
But again the test cost will be 4500+ ..so not everyone will be willing to get them tested
Good step by Reliance I guess – https://www.businessinsider.in/business/news/re...
A million Indians are infected by corona already Impact upcoming. Government is still not ready. so sad to see the sorry state of affiars in India.

Do you know this, someone posted on Twitter
India have lack of healthcare facilities
India has 30,000 functional ventilators.
Cost of purchasing another 30,000 ventilators is 30,000 * 2 lakh = 600 crore rupees.
Annual budget of prime minister’s special protection group is ₹592.5 crore
And cost of statue of Unity is 3000 crore.
Cost of purchasing Madhya Pradesh MPs etc is probably more.
Serious pneumonia like patients haven’t started reporting yet, Which means we are still in a phase where we can prevent the spread or flatten the curve.
Analyzing Italy’s data, i was assuming that we will start having multiple patients with breathing issues by last week of March, but such patients have been very scarce. I guess we have 1-1.5 months to manufacture ventilators.
They are already here bro, just wait a day or two and the data will start coming. People dying out of respiratory illness are not being check for corona because they have no history of travel or contacts with travelers. But people are already dying and its not being reported.
You can’t stop the spread in an uncultured place like India. So the main question arises, has there been any news of any vaccine? I heard some malaria one might be working or something, has there been any progress in that regard?
Malaria medicine has been officially endorsed by me
There was good fight regarding this at desidime
Dont know Why central government still not announced any compensation for daily wages workers ,they are badly impacted by lockdowns and curfew

and kill us
We need such scientists to fight corona virus<a href=“”video youtube">">
