Sony PS5 India Launch date confirmed on 19th November. What will be the price?

When one of the online retailer like Amazon India, puts up a page about Ps5 Launch, you kinda know that Sony Playstation 5 Launch is very much around the corner. While Sony India has not officially given a launch Date for India and even Pre-orders are yet to be started which is very surprising given that PS5 Pre-orders have already started in Rest of the World and XBOX Series S and Series X is already available for pre-order in India. But Sony Playstation fan-boys can hold their breath as rumours on Twitter and Gaming forums suggest that Sony India will make them available for purchase on November 20th.

As many of you might be aware, Sony has announced launch of 2 Editions - The standard edition and the Digital Edition - depending on if you want a digital-only experience or prefer disc-based gaming. Whichever PS5 you choose, you’ll enjoy the same breathtaking, next-gen gaming experiences, as per Playstation Blog

India Launch Date expected to be November 19th

While Sony had officially announced launch of PS5 on 12 November in the US, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea and on November 19th for Rest of the World, There has been no official confirmation yet from Sony India as there are reports which suggests that there might be Supply-chain issues which may delay the launch.

Gamers on Twitter like Kaushik Choudhury have already started to speak with Sony store and information they have received suggests that launch Date of November 19th is possible.  Would Sony India try to launch Digital Version closer to 35K given that Xbox Series S is already priced at Rs. 34,990 ? India being a very price-sensitive market, Sony will have a hard time to price it well against Xbox as there are multiple reviews on Youtube which suggests that Xbox Series X would definitely be one of the Fastest console to be launched.

Amazon India have already hinted at games to be launched on Playstation 5 on their Launch Page

The PS5 runs on eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU and a custom AMD RDNA 2-based GPU, which provides 10.28 teraflops of power with 36 compute units running at 2.23GHz each. System memory will be 16GB. The PS5 will have a solid-state drive (SSD) and will support features like real-time ray tracing. It will also support 4K TV Gaming at a 120Hz refresh rate, 8K graphics, and 3D audio. It will ship with DualSense Wireless controller featuring Haptick feedback and Dynamic Trigger effects.

Amazon India launch page also suggests additional accessories like Pulse 3D Wireless Headset, Media Remote, Dual sense controller charging station as well as HD Camera.

Sony have also confirmed backwards compatibility with PS4 games.
