This is the time of the year, when we get to see some of the biggest flagships such as the Samsung S25 Series launch or the OnePlus 13 series launch. Earlier, Redmi would also launch their Note series in January though it seems like they chose to wrap it up pretty early this time. Nevertheless, here’s a list of some of the upcoming smartphone launches in India in January 2025 from Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo and Redmi that you shouldn’t miss.

Starting our list of upcoming smartphone launches in Jan 2025 with a banger - the Samsung S25 Series coming to India on 22nd January in the Galaxy Unpacked event. The flagship S-series of Samsung will consist of 3 devices - the Samsung S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra and a rumoured S25 Slim

Speaking of the Samsung S25, the vanilla variant from the S25 flagship will finally boast 12GB RAM as compared to 8GB in S24 and S23 series. Moreover, after the Exynos chipset failed to woo users in India & other select markets, Samsung is highly anticipated to bring all its S25 series models in all the markets including India on the Snapdragon 8 Elite custom chipset.

The Samsung S25’s camera specs have everyone watching closely. While the S23 and S24 shared the same setup of 50MP + 10MP + 12MP rear cameras and a 12MP front camera, fans are hoping for a fair upgrade this time. However, according to leaks and rumors, that is sadly not going to happen.

However, thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite chip, the battery in Samsung S25 might see an upgrade compared to the 4000mAh in its predecessor, S24.

But most of these are only calculated assumptions and rumours, so be sure to take these details with a pinch of salt.

Samsung S25 Slim is a rumoured smartphone release in Q2 of 2025 expected to debut alongside the Samsung S25 flagship series. If we buy into the leaks and rumours, this would be similar to S25 Plus and boast a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5X optical zoom. Just like the rest of the models in the Galaxy S25 series, the S25 Slim will likely have a SD 8 Gen Elite chipset.

There isn't much information available about this rumoured smartphone launch in January 2025 but it’d be interesting to see how it flares against the compact-sized S25.

Notably, as per some reports, the Samsung S25 launch in Indian markets will probably occur by April or June and not alongside the S25 series.

The Samsung S25 Plus, set to launch in January 2025, has fans buzzing with anticipation. Like its predecessor, the S24 Plus, this upcoming smartphone is expected to feature a 6.7-inch display, a 50MP + 10MP + 12MP rear camera setup, and a 12MP front-facing camera. Yep, the S25 Plus is not expected to get any major upgrades.

What’s raising eyebrows, however, is its Geekbench appearance by the model code “SM-S936B” with an Exynos chipset. This comes as a surprise since most leaks hint that all S25 series models will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite chip. That said, a Geekbench listing doesn’t confirm the final hardware. For now, it’s a waiting game until Samsung officially lifts the curtain.

This has to be one of the most awaited smartphones of the entire 2025 year. After a long wait for a year, the Samsung S25 Ultra is all set to launch on January 22nd in India and the pre-orders & Samsung’s discount offers will likely begin from 23rd January and will probably last till the end of the month. In the battery department, Samsung S25 Ultra might get an upgrade in its wireless charging speed but the battery capacity is more or less expected to remain the same.

One more highlight of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will also be the new AI features that we will get to see with the OneUI 7.0 update, which so far in its beta version seems highly exciting. The bezels are also going to be slimmer and the phone will likely be available in titanium black, titanium grey, titanium jade green, titanium jet black, titanium pink gold, titanium silver blue, and titanium white silver colour options.

If we go back in time during the OnePlus 12 launch, what’s one of the most prominent things that comes to your mind? Controversies? Yep, OnePlus interestingly has been in controversy for a little while. Moving on to our list of upcoming smartphones in January 2025 in India, we are talking about the Oppo Reno 13. The Reno series that first started in 2019 have come a long way from the Oppo Reno 7 powered by Mediatek Dimensity 900 chip to the Oppo Reno 13 which is expected to arrive with a brand new MTK Dimensity 8350 SoC. What’s common in both of these cases though is Oppo’s primary focus on building a camera-centric phone first and then a phone for performance.

For example, in the upcoming Oppo Reno 13 series, as per the leaks & the Chinese variant, we can see that the brand is bringing an AI triple camera as well as a circular ring shaped flashlight. The rear is said to feature a primary camera of 50MP main OIS Sony sensor with f/1.8 aperture + 8MP ultrawide + 50MP selfie with a f/2.0 aperture. The brand boasts the phone for being IP69 “fully waterproof,” having “ultra-narrow bezels” and slimmer design. The highlights of this phone is Redmi’s premium-looking design for a 5G budget phone and “the biggest 120Hz display on a 5G phone” in the same price segment.
