Airtel Xstream Fiber vs Jio Fiber: Who are you rooting for?

In jio base plan, can we get dual band router?

In my city jio not reached yet, and airtel is asking for 2700 router amd installation charges if you opt for 499 plan, else only installation charges of 1000 of opting for higher value plan .

Anyone else facing this ??

Can some body tell me that I only want to watch live TV channels not ott content so should I get that with jio fibre 399 plan.? And if I go fr airtel 499 plan do they offer live channels with any charge?

Don’t ever go with Airtel DTH Plan. Please stick with Jio only. They screwed up the issue and Xstream Box is waste product. They don’t allow to stream Zee TV show from mobile to devices. It doesn’t support Google Mini.

Got my Airtel DSL migrated to Xtreme Fiber today. Getting pretty good speeds… I am on 40mbps plan 499…

I got Nokia router G-140W-F which is much better than JIO router in terms of range. Will test out more in coming days… So far firmware also seems to have more features than JIO router….

All Airtel Fiber plans says FastTag is active on it… How to use it ??? Anybody can explain this ?

I’ve two older vehicles & since now Govt has made it mandatory for every vehicle, what use can I have with this Airtel FastTag bundle with my 499 plan ?

I currently have ACT Fibernet connection and the uplink and downlink speeds remain symmetric and constant most of the time and data consumption count is logged genuinely.
I had taken the Jio Fiber connection last year when it was a free trial connection. Their uplink and downlink speed remained a tad inconsistent and the data consumption is throttled and logged as more bytes consumed for similar activity compared to ACT.
The Airtel plans look good and the prices mentioned are inclusive of GST. Airtel’s speeds are mentioned ‘up to xxxMbps’ which means do their uplink and downlink speeds remain symmetric constant or be varying? Also would like to know if their data consumption logging remains close to genuine?

Does Jio Fiber provides 4k set top box for plans of Rs. 399 and Rs. 799?

Hey Thanks to OP, didn’t knew airtel introduced another plan with 499. Was using 699 plan with same benefot as 499.

Airtel gives 10% more speed than promised so expect speed around 50mbps for 40mbps plan. Also jio have privacy issues like they use their own DNS, locked bridge mode, CGNAT, bad routing especially for places outside India, Deep Packet Inspection(10% of jio is owned by facebook so makes sense), less speed than plan.

I am living in Mumbai I had been using Hathway Broadband from last 7years but past 1 year there has been frequently disconnect of internet connection I checked with my area jio is still not came in area but I have checked with my friends they referred ION internet sharing the snapshot

Airtel 499 means 499+ 18% GST = 589

Also, installation changers extra. They say router free, but charge 1000 for line charges and charges around 2500 for 499 pla whcih is a cheating strategy.
Go for higher plan say 799 when get installation and pay 100o instalation, later change your plan to 499 and save your hard earned money.

Does jio fiber earlier silver plan 899+gst provides erosnow, voot subscription? I get msg to login with own account. Also myjio showing shemaroo.me subscription, but shemaroo is not at all available in jio store app store. Any used it in jio settop box?

for airtel installation charge is ₹1000/- for plan 1( for further plans if you opt 3 month subscription then it will be free of cost)
also GST is not included in all airtel plans

I live in Andheri west. No jio no airtel. Both want me to take wireless which is retarded.

With Airtel you can port forward and use your own router. You can’t do either of these with jio. Airtel wins.

Airtel

Airtel is postpaid whereas Jio is prepaid, you cannot hold your connection for a month or 2, in Jio you can.
Airtel STB requires min 150 recharge and if will not do it u wont get your security deposit as well as they can take away their STB as per the T&C.
Jio requires 999 plan for all OTT apps. But other channels will work without 999 pack like Jio Tv (Not sure about this).
I have Jio Fiber connection.
Services are quick if line work are completed.
