In another 3 or 4 days, We will allow some of the Dimers who commented here to create their own Deal Channels and then it will be open for everyone….

Recently, there are many Dimers who have shown interest for Deal Alerts on SMS and Email. We recognise the need and since Bulk SMS/Emails are expensive, We are introducing Our very First Community Driven Deal Alerts…
Introducing Community Driven Deal Alerts. Active Users in the community can create their own deal alert Subscription channel to which any user can subscribe. Let me explain in Detail….
Create your Own Deal Alert Channel
1) You as a dimer, will bump across some great deals in the forums… These are deals which you love, which you want to share with friends or are loots which your close friends must know…
2) Simply Create your own Deal Channel by going to your profile page. A user can create just one deal channel and give any name/description to it.
3) Now whenever you see a great deal in the forum, simply click “Add to my Channel” and it will be not only added to your channel but will also be emailed as well as SMSed to all your channel subscribers.
4) Get more subscribers by adding the best loots to your channel. Pick wisely so your subscribers, don’t unsubscribe.
Follow Trending Deal Channels
1) As a DesiDimer, if you are always on lookout for deals, you can follow upto 3 best deal channels of your choice. We will obviously give you information about Active Deal channels on a dedicated page.
2) As soon as the Channel host adds the deal to his/her channel, it will be emailed as well as SMSed to you instantly.
3) For Best results, Follow Deal channels of users who are most active in the forum, at various time of the day….
Advantages of Deal Channels
1) Tightly Integrated with Forums, so you get real deals, well before we promote it to Front Page. But pick Hosts which are Active in forums.
2) Easy way to Subscribe/unsubscribe from Deal Channels.
3) FREE of Cost. Yes, It would be FREE for Dimers. Though we are still figuring some details.
4) As a deal Host, You get More Fan following and ability to reach thousands of subscribers instantly.
5) Not Keyword Sensitive – Price Errors does not always have price error in the title.
6) Your Niche – You can follow Channel Hosts who follow various niche. It could be Recharge deals or Travel Deals or Just Price Errors. You get the point!

Hello Everyone,
We had noticed that as per our old calculation once the channel became the hottest and went inactive for few days, the channel would still remain on top of the chart.
To give a fair chance to all the channel owners, we will now be calculating hotness of all the channels as per their activity of last 30 days only.
The hottest channel will be the one sharing fastest and the maximum deals in the last 30 days.

I was able to subscribe to both alert types but not sure if my mobile no. was added to Desidime.
Is it a bug or where can I find my current mobile no. preference?
Yes, it did not ask you for mobile number as it was already there… I have PM’ed you your mobile number we had in our database.

Users with Permissions
To create a Deal Channel… Simply Go to your Profile Page. You will see option to create a Deal Channel.
Adding Deals to your channels is easy too…

How can we make sure that users are not getting repeated deal alerts of a single deal from different subscriptions..!!! Please have an insight of this.

My observations regarding the community driven deal alerts
Prob1: Same deal from different subscriptions
Prob2: The deal may not reach to the users if the particular member is not present to send the notification
Prob3: After allowing all to create their own deal channels, definitely there will be 100s of deal channels which will lead to create so many DDs inside one DD.
Prob4: Lots of sms charge for sending same deals again and again and users may get frustrated from the repeated alerts
Sols:
- Create category wise deal channels: e.g. loot deal alerts, FPD alerts, tricks alert, free-buy alerts, trending deal alerts etc.
- allow certain users to pull the trigger. Therefore someone will always be there to send the notification when a new good deal comes and if the deal is worth the alert will be send. Nobody will miss any deal. Once it the notification is sent then the post will not further allow to send the notifications. Therefore no repeated notifications.
- or allow a group of people for each channels who will be taking responsibility to send the alerts
IMO: In this way we will not miss any deal.

Just create your channel name and its description. And you are good to go.
