You've mentioned several roles, including Video Editor, 2D Compositor, Motion Graphic Artist, and VFX Artist. None of these positions can be learned quickly.

Starting with 2D Compositing, it involves a lot of manipulation and the crucial decision of selecting the right software. While After Effects is user-friendly, you’ll need to master in organizing layers, using null objects, understanding keyframe velocity, automating character expressions, and applying motion blur to achieve smooth animations. Only the final rendering process satisfy and straightforward 😪.

If you're looking for a quick job-ready skill in 2D Compositing, then be prepared to tackle NUKE and FUSION softwares 🙂. On the other hand, Blender is a more enjoyable and accessible tool. The same principles apply to Motion Graphics. Learning keyboard shortcuts is essential, and I’m sure you already know that.

When it comes to Visual Effects, there’s a lot to consider. If you're aiming to be an FX artist, you'll need strong specialization to create natural elements. A Technical Director role can also be a good fit, but you must be efficient in troubleshooting shot errors. Rotoscoping can be challenging, but if you excel at it, you could become a standout artist. However, be cautious about working at Red Chillies or NY VFXWAALA, as they can turn you into a corporate majdoor rather than a skilled artist. While these companies are first preferred in the country for post-production, the job can be hectic, even if you feel proud to receive credits for your work (Post-Credit of any movie). Roles like Texture Artist and Lighting Artist are generally great but I don’t know about the demand like Roto Artist.

At last, ultimately, the best option for a promising career is in Video Editing. Mastering software like Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro is⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡, along with being proficient in keyboard shortcuts. If you want to improve your skills in this area, consider learning about DI Colorists. In my opinion, nothing beats Video Editing and DI Colorist as short-term, valuable skills to acquire….
