Buffalo ghee has good taste and also helps in gaining weight but it doesn’t have much of nutritional value compared to cow ghee. Cow ghee has lots of nutritional value and also helps to reduce weight. In a nutshell cow ghee is better than buffalo ghee in terms of health.

If you want to purchase cow ghee online within:
₹500 to ₹600 Gowardhan ghee (best in class)
₹450 to ₹500 amul ghee, mother dairy and Nestle
₹400 to ₹450 Ananda gopaljee ghee (best cheapest ghee)

These are personally verified. If you want buffalo ghee. Vedaka buffalo ghee is also available in Amazon

I would recommend go with desi cow ghee. Better if you get it from local farmers or local dairy so that it must be more authentic compare to buying ghee pockets from shops.

If you wont get it from local farmers then Buy it from below link. Personally I used it and recommending. I cost is comparatively high due authentic one.

Nandini cow ghee is only available in Karnataka but its really good. Nearly indistinguishable from home-made ghee( prepared from Nandini milk itself). Priced at Rs 470/L.

cow ghee of local breed starts from 1k/kg here. That aroma can’t be found in markets.

And yes all mentioned above are pure, just source makes difference in quality.

Gowardhan cow ghee

If you want real ghee try looking locally. Those who have lot of cows sometimes sell ghee as they have extra. In our grandparents house we had cows, ghee was extracted. That aroma is unmatched, also the purity obviously. I’m not even sure but i think all the ghee being sold online are adultered one way or the other. But I still ordered one Ashirvaad one after looking at positive reviews. Hope it’s least adultered. This is where living in a city is disadvantageous.

Buy cow ghee if your lifestyle is comparatively inactive (sitting work) , as its nature makes it easier to digest than buffalo ghee.
Buffalo ghee is more suitable if you are burning calories and your work includes physical strain.

Not sure of brands (gowardhan, mother dairy and aashirwad are good according to me)

Cow ghee is good for children and buffalo ghee is for adults. Simple. If you don’t do physical activities plz avoid any type of ghee.

…Bro if u need branded version answer then google it….

…But if you want real answer then buffalo ghee is much much better…ask any wrestler…

…Buffalo ghee is costly 800 rs per kg now…while the cow ghee is around 400-450 rs per kg….

….most of the brands sell jersey cow ghee which is nothing but fat….mostly discarded fat in europe….

….If u have any connection in haryana or punjab …buy buffalo ghee….

…Otherwise cow ghee is available in all kind of fancy boxes…

Living almost in punjab, i could tell thats not the real “branded” costing
Verka (of Punjab govt) and Vita (of Haryana Govt) here sell cow ghee 20-25 rupees in premium over buffalo ghee (both remain around 420-450 in costing)
So not sure how that figure of 800 came (you might be talking of real ghee not manufactured on commercial scale)
And yes, buffalo ghee is better but one needs real exercise to burn the nutrition that it contains, cow ghee is much lighter
Have been eating both since childhood , so can make the difference on an individual scale atleast, it might or might not be correct in general smile

…Actually you need to understand the costing…milk yielding buffalo cost a minimum of 85000 rs now….but minimum means lesser quality….

..So think if you invest 1 lakh rs in a cattle and rear it ….you can’t sell milk and ghee cheaply…

Deal Lieutenant Deal Lieutenant

…Cows milk has less protein , less nutrients and its less viscous….thats why cows milk is cheap and it digests easily…

…But buffalo’s milk is quality….

Due to slight milk intolerance and higher sitting hours, i prefer cow milk

For Ghee always go for direct brands of Milk Dairies – Nandini, Heritage, Dodla, Amul
Don’t go for brands which doesn’t have own diaries and procure them from other Dairies – Aashirwad (ITC doesn’t have any dairy), Britannia

..if someone is taking whey supreme or elite….the absorption is low in buffalo or cows milk but absorption is high in camels milk….

….Yes its hard to get camels milk but you can try if possible….

I’ve used Fresho Organic Cow Ghee from Big Basket which is so far the best one I’ve ever had. As this one is not available right now got Fresho Pure Ghee – which lacks aroma and consistency both. It feels more like butter oil biggrin Anyway, once Fresho organic ghee is in stock will order again.

First of all prefer always cow ghee, that too only Desi Cow referred as A2.

Now on techniques -
Ghee is made from many methods but the best way is Vedic Bliona Method with the same procedure as mentioned in vedas
next one is Bilona method with machines (not as per vedic method) in which they churn the curd to get makhhan and then make ghee from it
then comes cream separation, in which cream/malai is separated from milk and ghee is made. Mostly brands use this. They separate cream from full fat milk and then use cream to make ghee + use the leftover milk to sell as skimmed milk. No wastage at all so cost is cheaper.

Cost -
Desi Cow ghee made from Vedic Bilona method will cost in 1400-2500 range
Desi Cow Ghee from Normal Bilona Method will cost in 1000-2000 range
Desi Cow ghee from other methods will cost in 700+ range or lower depend on village
Normal cow ghee made from separating cream from full fat milk cost 400-500rs which brand like Amul, Mother Dairy, Ashirwad do sell

Cost is cheaper in industries as they sell byproduct like skimmed milk and buttermilk further so cost is divided. but local manufacturers may not able to sell those so cost get higher.

What i will suggest -
if budget is not the issue get arranged Desi Cow ghee made by vedic bilona method
or just buy A2 / desi cow ghee (prefer local made in villages)
Or at home churn the curd daily and collect makhhan and eat free buttermilk. But it can cost more if you don’t count buttermilk as product.

Last – you can also make ghee at home by separating cream daily from milk and drinking milk as normal.

other packaged ghee are okay but treat that as fat for cooking, without any real benefits and taste of ghee
