UP CM Yogi Adityanath invites private companies to fund Rs 330-crore Ram statue in Ayodhya

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is planning to corporate funds to build the 100-metre tall statue of Lord Rama on banks of the River Saryu, a report in the Economic Times states. The Ram statue is expected to cost around Rs 330 crore. The government has opened up 86 tourism projects, including the Ram statue, to private companies as an option to spend their mandatory 2% of net profit under CSR (Corporate social responsibility) on them. The Ram statue is part of the Uttar Pradesh government’s project ‘Navyu Ayodhya’ (New Ayodhya).
