In this article, we would be sharing all that we know so far about this upcoming Amazon Tez app launch aka Amazon’s 10-30 minutes delivery service in India.
Amazon Tez App Launch in India
Amazon Tez launch in India is now just around the corner (similar to Amazon Black Friday Sale 2024⭐). Last time when we had shared the news of Amazon planning to enter the quick commerce space, there were still a lot of speculations. However, now with an official announcement only days away, the long-awaited debut of Amazon Tez seems imminent.
The name “Tez” meaning speed in Hindi hints towards the nature of quick-commerce. At present, the online retail giant is already delivering groceries & daily essentials via Amazon Fresh with the lowest delivery time ranging around 2-hours. This is significantly higher compared to other top quick commerce apps in the market where the average is around 10-minutes to 30-minutes.
Amazon 10 mins to 30 minutes delivery app in India: The challenge
As mentioned above, Amazon is far behind in the race of quick commerce with its Amazon Fresh delivery time of 2 hours to 48 hours. The brand is expected to tackle this challenge by building more dark stores across the country. At present, Amazon has warehouses across 15 states (this is different from dark stores) that help Amazon deliver goods and services to its millions of customers across the country with ease.
In 2019, Amazon became the first e-commerce company to leverage Indian Railways to freight corridors to improve its delivery capabilities.
While Amazon may have built a strong network of country-wide operations, it will need to build at least about 500-1000 dark stores in India to give a tough fight to Blinkit that holds the no.1 position in having the highest number of dark stores (over 600) followed by Swiggy Instamart that boasts over 500 dark stores and with Zepto being the lowest with around 300-350 dark stores at present.
Amazon’s biggest rival in e-commerce, Flipkart also launched Flipkart Minutes earlier this year.
It will be interesting to see how Amazon launches the Amazon Tez app in India and rest assured, with the giant itself entering the quick commerce space first-time ever in history, a lot of customers are anticipating bigger discounts, loot offers and deals.
So this was all about sharing everything we know so far about Amazon’s 10-30 minutes delivery app launch in India (Tez). Note that the name “Tez” is probably only a working title at the moment and may be changed.
