Surprised no one mentioned Nippon small cap, kotak flexicap

If the duration is longterm atleast 10Yrs put in any small cap fund

If the duration is less than 5yr mid cap fund

Less than 2Yr largecap

Ps always put in growth fund instead of balanced fund

Bonus - search advisorkhoj website & make informed financial decision

Never Go for standalone Midcap or Small Cap funds. In the long run, rolling returns for SIP are not very much different from Large Cap Funds but the increase in risk exposure is very high.

In increasing order of risk, go for Balance Advantage, Index Funds, Large-Midcap Funds & Flexi Cap Funds.

Most People don't know about rolling returns that's why they recommend Midcap or Small Cap Funds.

ICICI balanced advantage fund

Reason - Manages the downside very well... Check the fund performance when Nifty fell 40% in 50 days during Covid...

Ofcourse the rise won't be that much as well... My expectation is 10% CAGR from this fund.

Also, you don't need to think too much like mkt is at ATH should I put or not... The fund changes the asset allocation according to the mkt... Buy at low, sell at high

Nippon small cap is the Only best for long term.

Large cap -> icici bluechip fund ( you get foreign company exposure as well)

Flexicap -> Hdfc flexi cap

Small cap -> Either Hdfc or SBI small cap. Nippon Small cap does not allow any lumpsum investment.

Sectoral -> Nippon Pharma fund

If you want index funds in place of Largecap then take nifty bees. 🙂

Instead of going with sip, save those money in savings account/Rd. When market falls, buy like a madman.

I would recommend sticking to one flexi Cap for long-term and other categories you can play with momentum

1) Parak Parik Flexi Cap Fund (Gold Standard Manager and Exposure to International Markets

2) Sundaram Financial services opportunity fund - (Nifty, Small, Mid have already given good returns and 2024 is for large-cap and Financial Sector, Bank nifty focuses on only banks but finnifty also captures NBFC's and Insurance companies - This is more volatile comparatively, This fund is has good alpha compared to FinNifty)

3) SBI Healthcare Opportunities fund (To capture pharma rally estimated to perform good for next 3 to 5 years)

4) Any chemical related mutual fund (Havn't studied there yet ) Or TATA Digital Fund (IT rally is due and always have better cagr over nifty50 over long time.

Thanks and Regards,

Sandeep M

Whatever fund u select, ensure that it is DIRECT plan and not REGULAR. (Direct funds TER is very less since they need not to give any commission either to bank/agents/distributors)

Corporate bond fund or Gilt fund. It's unlikely that the interest rate will rise anymore. So the yield won't rise, rather it may soften in a rate cutting scenario making your existing holding an attractive bet. I am willing to take this risk. Stocks are overvalued anyway.

This is why I said, taxation is not clear. Most people have very low understanding of nps. The govt has to make it clear about the taxation, charges and other things surrounding nps.

Definitely need to make it more appealing.
Deal Cadet Deal Cadet

Yes, it was taxed similar to mutual funds, but since this year debt fund became taxable as per income slab, now govt has not clarified about NPS tier 2 taxation.

This is a fund that invests in a fund that invests in US Nasdaq 100, Foreign investment, All tech stocks.

You will see impressive gains and equally huge losses in down times.

Limiting exposure is the key here(not more than 10% of your portfolio).

MAJOR CON

This is taxed the same as debt mutual funds, as it is a FoF. slab rate.

ALL FoF treated as debt mutual funds for taxation purpose.

For people who want to invest in it.
