The tolerance threshold for “time-wasting”, according to workers, is even lower in the customer promise department that caters to Amazon Prime.

The cart of a Prime customer must be filled within the stipulated time. “In case we get injured or feel unwell, we’re simply told to continue. If we can’t, we must face consequences. I had to rush to the washroom once, but when I returned after five minutes, the work had been given to someone else and I was threatened with blacklisting,” says Gita, who works in Del-4.

Most likely, the workers are SBI employees' relatives. #CancelPrimeMembership #BoycottAmazon and let's not whine or complain when we receive a brick rather than an iPhone or when our Prime shipment arrives later than expected (e.g a birthday gift arriving after birthday party).  relieved

I am surprised that Amazon is getting such high orders.

Low level employees scene is everywhere same. If they don't want someone else will easily take their place. They don't have much options or choice.

Replacement and bench strength well planned by amazon.

But for customer products no Replacement 😞

It could have been the supervisor's fault for babbling these nonsensical morale boosting slogans and not the Amazon's management policies.

As I've been told by friends who worked part-time at an Amazon warehouse abroad, there is no time wasted inside the Amazon warehouse. They praise how well-organized everything is.

If I recall correctly, I still remember one of my friends saying that he had to move around on roller skates or something similar for picking orders, to ensure no time was wasted walking in the large warehouse space.

This holds true for all Amazon warehouses globally; everything operates on a tight schedule. You need to be physically fit and with a right mindset to work in there.

Why

How many things do you boycott in life?

The low-level employees scene is same everywhere, even in a small restaurant or boutique

Rubbish!

In U.S. of A they ensure (by) some weird laws or tactics that in mist states the staff do not form unions.
But in India, if the non permanent staff (contractors hire temporary staff as contract labour or on agency basis.. like for delivery and pick-up work) want to approach the labour commissioners, then they can.

Breaks ARE there. Even in the U.S. of A.
But average person cannot use the breaks😛, if the warehouse is thousands of square-feet and one has to pass through a designated security check to reach the bathrooms/toilets in on end.. all in 15 minutes.

In U.S. of A, sometimes during winters (Christmas, Black Friday), they operate in warehouses without central heating (so temperatures can go bow zero degrees centigrade).
Some areas might have local heater unit but one has to run around the place, so no use.

Also, in U.S. of A, if the forklift or robots are not around or not working at the time, but order has to be packed then manually the "runner" or the 'picker' will have to carry even tyres, brake pads, axles or other heavy parts of trucks, vehicles till at-least the conveyor belt.

Here MSN links are not opening, so I did not see the link.
But in India there is no such force on employees to keep working.
Government is providing employment via various companies.
Government has done so much 'vikaas' that even foreigners (like the Chinese, for Adani Solar power projects) are lining up for work visas (wherein the government is breaking and tweaking visa rules to allow the Indian companies to employe those Chinese.)
And the head of the government even made it easy for people to flee India or migrate to France, Germany, other places.

So there is no force on anyone to be in such contracts where there are sub-human working conditions.
