We suggest everyone to use PM for sending sensitive info like email/phone number etc instead of putting it openly for everyone to see. And feel free to share 1-time coupon codes with friends etc or some super-secret codes via PM which cannot be communicated via forums

Time for new updates:

• You can now upload your avatar to DesiDime. Just go to settings page and upload your super-cool avatar
• You will be able to submit new deal 2 minutes after your last deal. This is to avoid any spam. We may increase the interval time, if required.
• You will not be able to edit posts in a sticky thread. Also, any old posts (more than 1 day old) cannot be edited now. This is for security of forums. Hope you would appreciate it.

• A new profile page for everyone with much more details.
• You can now become fan of your best deal hunters. Really admire someone? Become their fan. You can do so from their profile page.

• Improved Search is here!!! Now you cannot complain that search is not working

Anyone trying to exploit this new feature by creating multiple accounts will be banned forever. Yeah, we track that too.

And yes you can alert admin of reposts etc as already told by other members

The idea is excellent, Rest is all copy – paste…
Even the page layout…

It is indeed a good step to make the coupon section more lively and user friendly, but i feel desidime should stand apart… apart from other ‘n’ number of coupon sites. But unfortunately, the page is exact replica of a known coupon site, whose link I will not display as I respect the rules.

C’mon bro, I thought desidime is best.. don’t let me down by eventually ending in copy-paste stuff.
If you don’t agree with my belief, just tell, I’ll PM you the link of the site. (And yes, I am in no way related to the site i’m referring to).

Hoping that this particular section turns out to be unique as well, like it has always been on desidime.

Please don’t take anything personally, its just what I felt in the first look and spoke out my mind.

Indeed same… the search box… the popular store links… the browse box… and even the featured coupons display…
Forget about the features, there is not even a millimeter spacing difference in page layout..

I know couple of sites that uses the same script. Its not copy-paste but we buy the license for the program.. Its a script that is being sold by original developers.

We are working on our own coupon sharing system but a lot of users requested an easy way to browse coupons and thought why make everyone wait when we have something readily available. Having said that, you will see our very own coupon system soon..

If you are still not convinced, you can ask yourself if using wordpress for blog is copy paste??

Check out the ALL new gift shop!!!

Total Thumbs down to the New Gift Shop. The odds are totally stacked against the desidimers. I am the biggest disadvantaged guy as I had more than 1900 points at the time of this change.

As a disapproval to the new Gift Shop, I hereby start a “NO MORE DEALS MOVEMENT” whereby I will refrain from posting anything on desidime (except this thread).

I request fellow desidimers to join this movement to make it more successful than “Anna Hazare Movement”.

Our demands are:
1. Bring back the everyone’s favourite Rs. 500 infibeam voucher for 549 dimes.
2. Reduce the conversion rate to 1 rupee= 1.1 dimes (maximum) or lower (1.44 is way too much by any standard, though I know these conversion rates will change everyday but range should be 1.0 to 1.2)
3. Removal of term “Coupon codes will not be considered in the final value of the gift, even if its available on DesiDime”. This rule is giving another 10-15% disadvantage to desidimers.
4. Removal of term “Gift Vouchers or Certificates cannot be ordered” Gift vouchers are generally the ones where coupon codes can’t be applied, so to our disadvantage this option is also done away with.

First of all what do u mean odds there is no odds …. i am surprised every opne was saying get new items….. so we got the entire stores…. strange…… even in that people have problem…..

1. We will think abt bringing the gift vouchers back but not at 549 it will be at the conversion rate, and that also we are still thinking
2. That conversion rate will be fluctuating and it will can go lower or higher depending upon the dimes in the system…. which cant be tempered with so it can go to less than 1 or upto 2
3. It is an operational issue…. we cant manage coupon codes, as people will mail us coupon codes which have expired, then we will again keep on explaining…. so we wont be able to enteratin that
4. we might allow to purchase gift voucher, will let u know soon

@ anthrax.ut. thanks brother . Now at least we redeem product of our choice. Just want to confirm one thing is it possible to redeem after applying discount code on a particular website. All of us know that products are displayed on websites according to the coupon issued to deal site. (prices are already high)

@ lakshya. Please co-operate with desidime team. New gift system consist some disadvantage but admin will surely take care of your concern.

See thats where the operational issues are beyond us….. as people will start giving us expired codes… and then start a fight saying no it was valid when i mailed it to you……. hence we cant do that unfortunately…. we will try in future to get it in the system…. but does not seem possible right now

admin i think the new gift shop is interesting, is having some disadvantage, but again some advantage also.
lakshya this is a public platform and we all desidimers are one family, any dispute in the family can be solved with mutual understanding
