I stopped wasting money on firecrackers/kites since class-5(around 2008), back then it was a considered wise decision. my parents tend to reserve me 500-1000 Rs. for each festival and I was given a choice if I want to go shopping or put it in my cupboard. till my class X, I had around 20k from this savings and new-year covers.
we had planned to spend that on the Manali tour. We had a family in our society, whose son was diagnosed with a heart hole from birth. My father was the only person from a medical background in our society, so that person came to ask for a medical opinion. the later night my father asked me if I am willing to postpone our trip and willing to contribute my sharing towards a noble cause. I agreed as an operation was far worthful than a 10-day trip. my father matched the same amount from his side and given to that person. that boy should be in class-12 right now. I am not bragging about the incident, nor claiming I am good/bad.
For the last 3-4 years, social media trends that I was doing it all wrong. If a person is wisely choosing his financial aspects over entertainment then society finger points him/her. I still enjoy Diwali with diyas and rangoli. I don’t care what other people from other cultures are following. If I started following the same because they’re also doing wrong things, then there is no difference between us.
Again I am not against crackers/beliefs, I am just highlighting if you’re causing fumes only to create a competition with other cultures. Enjoy life while you can. we’re going to die in either way. We’re just one accident away from a drunk BMW driver or unexpected cancer/diabetes.

Those who burst crackers let them feel happy that they enjoyed the festival to its best and shared happiness with fellow beings.
Those who didn’t, let them enjoy feeling that they did something good for the earth and it’s creatures present and future.

Why use fridge, drink water from a ‘matka’. Why use AC at all,I remember my family bought our first AC when I was in 11th standard,usse pehle bhi kat hi jaata tha maamla. Leave your car too,I used to walk 3 km 1 way for tuition in 9th standard, then I got a scooty – sure felt like a luxury at the time

A bit of tolerance and responsibility goes a long way. The same logic can be applied on prayers from loudspeakers etc. Not many find them peaceful. People should start practicing responsibility though out the year. Nothing will be achieved overnight. In covid tons of people died. Tons more survived. But nobody celebrated the living. Some wanted act as if the world has died. If anyone tried to give the facts became antivax morons. 😂 Some cowards love to hide behind kind words. They are so shameless that they hold their cowardliness as badges of honors. Haha.
I am really glad that Diwali was celebrated. Diwali will be celebrated. People now need to stay awake the entire year, so that they can tolerate this festival. Otherwise, who cares about their opinions. 🐒🐒🐒
Some ppl are over burning loud, polluted crackers to actually disturb others. An evil lady in my neighborhood does that , fully knowing me and my father have difficulties due to asthma.
This time, that evil person came to tell everyone to not burst crackers bcz her premature kid is having difficulties. I send my parents to a different place and then burned 9k worth of firecrackers ☺️
I absolutely loathe people who vilify and wishes others death but I’m no angel. I’ll return the same pain to such horrid people too.
