I received email from kotak bank
We wish to inform you that the status of your account XXXX has been changed from No Freeze to Debit Freeze on 06-03-2024 for TXN PATTERN MISMATCH VIS-A-VIS DECLARED PROFILE. For any assistance please contact your Home Branch.
Now what should I do all my money is in the account my loan emi and credit card bills are coming and account is frozen
done any vrypto related stuff, or recent high trnsacion?
No crypto or something only i do Bajaj UPI transfer for cashback between 2 of my savings account kotak and SBI
then most probably a false flagging,as upi trnafer between two account fo sam pan shoud not trigger this warning
So now how should I proceed should I meet branch manager tomorrow or drop email to kotak customer support and what documents should i bring as i am a student i don't have any income source so i cannot file income tax form or something
Visit must hai email can't be helpful bcoz they will also ask you to visit branch see

Hi! As per our check your account is in debit freeze reason being TXN PATTERN MISMATCH VIS-A-VIS DECLARED PROFILE. We request you to visit any of our nearest branch to unfreeze your account along with valid id proofs (Physical copy). Now tomorrow i will visit my bank branch with pan and aadhar card and see what bank manager has to say
Please brother share whatever documents should be carried and how's your overall experience and after how many days your account unfreezed

My friend axis acc was also put on debit freeze.
He did bajaj transfer from wallet that they suspected that as buisness income and then followed by fixed value upi transfers for coins got the account frozen.
Everyone moved from paytm and now getting debit freeze left right in other accounts 😂
Het got a call and the sent a mail to axis with reason for trxn as daily usage and money transfer since paytm bank got closed and is using bajaj wallet as paytm alternate. was told that account will be unfrozen in 2 days and not to repeat same otherwise account will be blocked.
If you didn't attend the transaction monitoring call then your account will be freezed by kotak. You need to visit the branch to unfreeze. They may ask you to do re-kyc if needed.
Is it your prepaid card or savings account mine was Spendz please tell me the process whenever you get ride on it because I haven't visited my branch yet as I am not at my home town in Delhi i visited janakpuri branch the staff was very non cooperative they said need to visit home branch we can't help 🤦
It was 811 full kyc zero balance savings account i will visit branch tomorrow and update on the thread what they will say in branch
All these online accounts like kotak 811, Fi, Jupiter etc have limits with or without kyc. Too many transactions, cashbacks etc always lead to account blocks.
Fastest way to unfreeze is to visit the branch, I had similar issue with RBL, mail etc didn't work, I visited branch and they unfreezed it instantly.
increase your declared income that you have submitted while opening that bank account so that volume of transactions commensurate to income declared.
I visited the branch today they asked my pan card aadhar card and letter regarding the transaction after submitting they said they will do address verification and i should be present during verification and when i asked about when they will unfreezing they didn't give any date just said it will take time

I got call from bank branch today they td me to come to branch and they asked me 6 months SBI statement then after I got statement now they are asking me to close account and move Balance to another bank but I said no they are threatening me saying I will recieve legal notice I said go on i am going to escalate this complaint

No need to close just provide proofs of your UPI transactions along with KYC and you are good to go:)

If i knew that i would get so many problems i would have never done UPI transfer offers i thought that transfer between savings account with same pan card don't get freeze problems because it's your own money you are transferring
By the way I complained on Twitter when I got out of bank now I want to take back the complaint on Twitter because dad said don't make matter big i am having so much tension now he doesn't know about my Twitter escalation I did it when i stepped out of Branch now what should I do I am feeling very bad and stressed now feeling like nausea and blackout like feeling when thinking about this
Just close the account and move on. Stupid bank and irrational BM.
Jana Bank freezed my account on 15th Feb and I visited branch 2 times, wrote an application to unfreeze and at least 5 times called customer care, also mailed to their grievance redressal team, still no luck. Too many freezing of accounts going on recently.
Update: guys mine got fixed after complaining to KotakBankLtd and KotakCares handle on Twitter. They fixed it and told me to remove the card from BHIM and link it again.
Correct today I also called they said same for rupay UPI credit card
This account debt freeze happens when you do lot of UPI transactions which is not easy to track by BANK (this is the reason they said when my axis account was debt freezed)
I had to give written declaration BY VISITING BRANCH with proper proofs of what my UPI transactions are .. along with my KYC to get my account unfreezed in axis
so avoid using too many UPI transactions ... eg dont cross more than 1 lakh per month (when adding all upi transactions) or else you will be screwed at the unforeseen time of EMI autodebit
you can do lot of NEFT or IMPS but UPI over a limit will be watched by risk management team (axis risk management team watched my account lol)
So be considerate on your UPI transactions and your account wont get debt freezed in future
This freezing happens to avoid illegal transactions and to mitigate risk by the bank team, I think RBI instructed banks to look into this lol

Note: once account freeze happens only way is visiting branch physically to clear it... as bank wants to check you in person when getting proofs and self declaration from you just this one time (standard procedure i think)
Note 2: make sure you wont get debt freeze again by keeping UPI transactions a little lesser and within 1lakh per month
I used to send money to Axis from HDFC and SBI while availing the cashback offers by Bajaj. I used NEFT many times to return the money back to the source accounts and all was fine for one month. But the very first day when I used UPI a few times to return the money instead of NEFT, Axis promptly instituted a debit freeze. Luckily just an email sufficed and branch visit wasn't necessary. HDFC and SBI had blocked P2P after crossing the monthly limit of 100 transfers (which was lifted after the requisite time period passed) but far better than Axis. In any case I have stopped availing Bajaj offers.
If you want to avoid problems, it is recommended that you avoid engaging in any conflicts with Kotak. As long as your money is not involved in any illegal activities such as money laundering, terrorism, drugs, or gambling, you will not receive any notices from the RBI or IT department. The advantage is that you can easily demonstrate this to anyone. So, there is no need to worry about any negative consequences for you or your family. However, it is important to note that dealing with this situation will require a significant amount of your time. You have the option to file a complaint with the RBI and even request compensation for any mental distress caused. Rest assured, you will ultimately come out victorious.
On the other hand, if you prefer peace and want to avoid unnecessary headaches for yourself and your family, it would be wise to listen to BM's advice and transfer your funds and close the account as per your father and family's wishes.
No i didn't do anything illegal that's why when bank manager said i will recieve legal notice I said ok but when i informed this to my dad he was angry and scolding me told me to listen to branch manager and close account he told me that branch manager are big people why would he lie and told me to go and apologize to him and close account when i said i didn't do anything illegal only UPI transfer my dad isn't listening and lecturing me bank manager should know rules he told me for my own good and if income tax or rbi comes it will be big problem so i should go apologize and close the account the problem with my family members is even if i said i didn't do anything illegal they are not listening.
I had complained on kotak Twitter yesterday when leaving branch i will wait and see till Monday if kotak Twitter team doesn't take action I will just go to branch and close account

Thanks to Kotak social media team escalation my issue got resolved
