This is totally unfair... ask company for a different bank like HDFC, or ICICI. Usually companies offer options... Companies are stubborn... don't worry they won't terminate just because of a bank account... send the mail/proof received from bank to employer.

In March 2022, I opened an Axis Bank account with a credit card through an agent who visited my home. However, without my knowledge, the agent opened my account in a rural branch in another state, despite me living in an urban area. I never used that Axis Bank account, only used the credit card. After 7-8 months, the account was automatically closed, which I didn't pay much attention to at the time.
Now, when I try to reactivate the account or open a new one, my applications are being rejected. I have brought this issue to the attention of Axis Bank's top officials, including the bank manager, but all my efforts have been in vain. The reason for the rejection is a past KYC mismatch, according to the bank's verdict.
However, I have recently started a new job at a different company, and they are insisting that my salary can only be disbursed to an Axis Bank account. They are giving me an ultimatum to either open an Axis Bank account or face termination.
Is this ethical being terminated solely because of the choice of my salary account. ????!
I have been trying to solve this issue for more than 1 month but still no resolution.
I was trying to use the sad emoji but now I look insensitive thanks to the laughter emoji I used mistakenly...
Anyways, this is just awful and kamchor/lazy attitude on your employer's part.
As a few others have provided some valuable feedback, do try those and inform your lazy employer to wait.
P.S. did they mention about hiring only those with axis bank account during interview, etc?
Send an official email to top axis email IDs & CC your company, manager & seniors in it.
Explain the whole situation so that it appears that you're talking to both & send it.
Did everything as you said still...
How can a bank deny bank account?
Meet some senior officials of bank or threaten them with RBI action
Yeh kaisa company hai jo axis bank account nahin hai though job terminate karega? 🤦♂️
It reduces employer work. A single salary credit statement will be easy for them instead of different accounts and details.
idhar se company salary daalegi... udhaar se axis bank 1000 trah ke charge lga ke saare paise nikaal lega. perfect loot
Raise a complaint with RBI ombudsman team
Side note: its your responsibility to keep your KYC safe
as far as i Know you have to file police complaint and FIR for stolen KYC to solve this (if you need this solved)
Need few info, please elaborate so that I or some dimers can try best to sort it out
1) Did that agent used "your mobile number" on that "fake KYC axis account" at some other state?
2) In that "fake KYC axis account" what KYC that agent faked/used?
3) Did you known your mobile number was used in that "fake KYC axis account" in that state?
4) What KYC documents from you (pan, aadhar.. etc? which?) that agent used to open "fake KYC axis account", are you able to figure that out?
5) When you came to know that your "fake KYC axis account" is in existence? I mean after how long after it opened?
because when ever a bank account is opened using your mobile number and your KYC fake'ly at some state then you are liable because
rejection of past KYC mismatch, according to the bank's verdict is fine if they finalize that you "misused KYC for the sake of accounts and credit cards", its kinda offence so which is why axis is not allowing you
if you known that account existence using some fake KYC of your phone number and someone else KYC mixed with yours, then its offence kinda, so bank have rights to not let you onboard as risk factor
so can you clarify the above questions?
Similarly organization can deny hiring you if you dont comply with their norms and rules, thats part of T&C of joining an organization so its kinda fair, its organizational professional ethics
Raise complaint on Axis in RBI website: https://cms.rbi.o...n/
File a complaint immediately with RBI ombudsman against Axis demand and demand a compensation 10 times your salary: https://cms.rbi.o...n/
It literally works. demand compensation as 100x
Can't the salary be credited to someone else holding an account with Axis? My friend had transferred his govt. salary to my SBI account in the past as there was some issue with his SBI account.
I think, its not allowed on large organizations (as they want PAN linked personal bank account or personal salary account), because PAN has to be recorded for IT purposes
I think it was possible for you because
1) hmm maybe in past that friend of yours might have been able to do that but now it wont be possible (i am not sure as its govt)
2) some govt institutions dont check anythings:)
Try to open a digital account... but I guess they have PAN in the system already, still try it...
Write an email to the Axis CEO at [email protected]
Explain everything in detail. They will definitely look into that. I had been facing KYC Blacklist issue for more than a year due to which I can't open an account with them. I wrote to every higher authority nodal, chief nodel, BM, RM etc. The last two guys treated me irreverent. After the escalation to the ceo, he called me and spoke with an irritating tone that why you took that matter to CEO. He arranged for another agent who did the job for me. Finally my problem resolved. Hope the same for you.
Emailed few days back no response
Try opening a premium account with Axis, they may sort the issue if you pay high initial deposit or fd.
OR
Try asking them if any account of immediate family member can be merged with yours like joint account or giving any sort of declaration or account grouping.
Did the same but still got rejected
@nchjk9957 - Do we know what exactly is not matching? Name? Address? PAN? etc.
As per Axis bank re-kyc

Are you saying that Axis bank is not accepting any of these documents to re-check KYC?
The bank branch in which the account was opened earlier has closed it and now they are denying to help in the case. Saying can't do anything from my side.
It's just a case of permanent adress and bank branch adress mismatch
Thats weird. No company can say that. Also they can just reimburse your salary through a cheque too.
Seems like you also need to do a background check on your company too.
hmm company can site it as internal policy to maintain online system for payroll and not easily possible to disburse cheques as internal policy , we can't go against it, as its company policy (they would have already clearly mentioned during hiring on signing contract) company can make their own rules:)
Pno axis me complain karo solve ho jayega.. max 15 days.. i had similar issue.. they had one acc open in my pan without my consent thats why i couldn't login axis app neither they vould close it.. after many follow up bank gaveup.. then i complain pno threating rbi.. they aolved after 15 days.. closed that account then i was able to use my credit card and bank app login.... I still dont have bank acc with them.. neither i had opened.. idk how they had some half filled acc which was dormant also not kyc.. so bank staff had no option to kill that unauthorised account..
Sorry about your situation. Only some top management could help you at emergency. RBI and court route will take a long time to resolve.
Do kyc renewal. Ask them to update the kyc record. Raise a complaint on the RBI ombudsman if they don't update the kyc.
konsi company hai yeh?
Company can terminate your employment legally.
In my previous organization, they requested me to open an account with HDFC. When I hesitated, they explained that in case of any issues, it would be easier for HR to resolve them by collaborating with the HDFC corporate Manager. They mentioned a previous incident where an employee hadn't received their salary, and it took a month to resolve the matter, causing inconvenience to both HR and the employee who had to contact their respective banks multiple times. Although such occurrences are rare, they do happen, similar to UPI transactions getting stuck or other payment issues. To avoid wasting time, the company prefers employees to have an account with a bank they are associated with.
In my situation, it wasn't as severe. They didn't threaten to terminate me, but HR did express concerns and started crying, saying that if anything happened, there would be a lot of back and forth. In the end, I decided to open an account. The worst she could have done was put my salary on hold.
It is highly unlikely for any reputable company to fire you solely for your bank account. You should write a letter to the CEO of Axis and, if feasible, reach out to senior employees of Axis Bank on LinkedIn. Inquire with HR about obtaining contact information for any senior-level employees at Axis. Have you discussed this matter with HR and senior HR personnel?
Visit axis main office and then talk personally.
What is this 2014 RBI circular https://www.rbi.org.in/commonperson/English/Scr...
hmm its just RBI FAQ not related to the post where the OP might have mutually consented to open account at different branch with the help of axis bank agent (i am not sure OP didnt confirmed this yet) and now axis bank is not allowing OP to open account at his place
Lot of Axis bank employees are suggesting opening account at rural branch ID because of less minimum balance requirement to meet their target pressure of account opening, and because of this now I think axis bank services degraded in my opinion on my usages I think because of axis employees are in target pressure
(even i got suggested by the axis branch employee this way to open bank account at rural branch for low AMB requirement because of the target pressure the employess are facing at AXIS, but what i did is legally opened my 2nd account in the current branch and then branch transferred to another rural area branch which is more safer, now I am having less AMB)
Atypical of established companies, may hold the salary till issues are resolved.
Write to md desk with tagging the RBI email id [email protected] you would get a response soon as the bank takes this seriously as you're complaining to them keeping RBI in loop
complain to rbi ombudsman, and wait 15-20 days
axis bank me account khulwa lo bro agar job package acha h
& otherwise kick this job
One thing you can do is ...for your salary is I think you can get cheque issued..check with your accounting team..
In the mean while you can escalate the thing to axis management..for you to do a RE-KYC
Sale, yeh dekh pehle... agar koi issue hua to dm kar, ex-RBI, I can help... naukri koi na lega...
Yeh kaisa company hai jo axis bank account nahin hai though job terminate karega? 🤦♂️
