As per Trai guidelines from feb1 all channels pricing list gonna implement new pricing based on individual channel rates !
Many of us don’t know about it, and some don’t know how to select channels like me !
Also Trai said there wont be any further extension in rule implementation.

My suggestion would pick channels as a package(from a network/group like star, sun etc) to reduce price instead of selecting single channel from a channel owner.
Also heard we can change free channels which comes prebundled in base price of 153.

Log in to your Videocon account in desktop. Under one tab you can see the create/select your own pack option. There by applying required filters you can find different channels and bouquets. Give time gap for each clicks on the channels/packs as the website is working slowly. You can also find the channel/pack details by pressing the info button provided in right top corner of each packs. This info page will take time to load. On the right side of the selection page there is dashboard. Access the FTA pack through it. Apart from mandatory DD channels choose FTA channels as per your wish. First of all choose required paid packs and then choose FTA channels. Unlike other operators Videocon charges NCF as RS 1 per channel for upto 15 additional channels and RS 23 for 16-25 channels. Plan accordingly.

If you are using TataSky, Download their app, Click on banner on home page and select Individual channels… The best way to save money is to not use Tata sky recommended packages but use A la Carte Channel selection or Bouqet selection option.

One can use Bouquets instead of buying each channel at MRP. Obviously Bouqets are simple to get all related channels together. Disney Universal bouqet will only cost you Rs. 10. Check below link for each bouquet.

If you’ve recharged with a ARP (Advanced Rental Package) or something of the sort then that shall continue till its expiry. The reason I recharged with one on 28th January itself. At least I won’t be participating in this circus for next one year.
By the way, the amount of nonsensical and mathematics-defying comments in this thread is hilarious! I wrote a long message yesterday, with charts and links to demonstrate the real picture under this new rule but mistakenly clicked on the Cancel option, and not interested whatsoever to write that up again. But please, people, be practical. Those who wondered about others being irrational, posted the most irrational comment themselves! Jeez!
LOL! Trai is acting as if they have made everything cheaper but they have made it even more expensive. I doubt if any DTH user watches just 2-3 channels and pays for the entire month and where I chose the cheapest plan like Gold where you get Colors, SP, Zee and Sony the price earlier was 300 and now it’s 350. And even in this pack they have removed many channels which were present in the earlier pack.
For cable customers like me.
Previous charge was 160rs per month for normal channel(not hd)
Now how to choose for me. Specially I want to change the base pack which is coming for 154. Is there a way?

Yes, obviously. The new plans will come into effect from tomorrow (midnight today itself maybe), so you have to choose your desired plan today itself. Otherwise they’ll activate one of their recommended package or whatever.
If you’re on an advanced paid long-term package however, then that’ll continue as it is till its expiry.

As per my chat with Tatasky CC, if you are choosing monthly rental less than Rs. 250, then the Multi TV connection rental will cost INR 200.For Price from 251 to 400 Multi TV connection rental will be cost Rs. 300. For monthly rental from 401 to 500 Multi TV connection rental will be cost Rs. 400.For monthly rental from 501 to 625 Multi TV connection rental will be cost Rs. 500.For monthly rental from 626 to 750 Multi TV connection rental will be cost Rs. 600.For More than Rs. 750 it will cost INR 700.
TRAI order has raised my dth bill by 3 times and I am not talking about HD channels which I earlier got. I got a feeling this TRAI order will prove to be an issue in 2019 elections.

Idiots deactivated my account and now niether giving me long duration pack money refund for selecting 215 rs pack nor giving option to add any channel or pack on long duration pack. Utterly disgusting rule.

Does anyone knows how can we remove unwanted ncf channels in videocon d2h…as per TRAI only DD channels are to be made mandatory however videocon d2h has made all 100 channels mandatory and only few of them are usable…
While making selection click on 100 ncf channel in rightside total channel count (100 will be in blue color link).. After clicking it, it will sow all ncf channels and you can uncheck unwanted channels except mandatory channels !

CRISIL released their report few days back. The new rule, on average, increases the price by 25% for DTH subs, those who watch the Top 10 channels. So obviously more channels meaning more increase.
The trolls and bhakts can save it now.
And trai has rubbished the report saying they have done all calculation correct.
If in a family a mother watches 2 general entertainment channel, daughter watches 2 music channels, son watches 2 sports channels, father watches 2 news channels and family combine watches say 6-7 channels together, for 15 channels they will pay 345 (23×15) at max slab and about 200 at lowest slab (19 each for entertainment, sports and 5 each for music or news, 10 for common). Plus NCF of 153. So total comes out to be 353~500 just for 15 channels. In a best family pack a person was getting almost all channels at 300 odd rupees. Now channels number gone down 90%, price went up 50%. Yet trai finds pricing perfect.
It is because the middle slab viewers (350~500) were subsidising exclusive content users (English/HD/Sports at 800~1000) and exclusive content users were subsidising a lower slab user (150~250) by picking useless channels in pack. Since trai has made uniform pricing, higher slab are happy that they don’t need to pay for crap, middle slab users are sad that they will pay more to watch more and lower slab users will be angry as there is no one to pay for their entertainment now and worst they are unable to afford too (if they could, wouldn’t they?) And there lies govt, trai and operators inefficiency and greed.
Can we see 8-9 channel without base pack.. I want to spend only 100 RS per month

Hi all, i have selected my channel packs in Dish TV (costlier than my earlier packs 
). My new channels got selected & i got a token number too.
Now what next, dish tv site is dammed slow.
Can i recharge my acc through Payt, Freecharge, PhonePe wallets? or is there any step left from my side which i might have missed as their site is slow now?

Once you get token number your pack will get updated automatically and you will receive a confirmation text.
Restart your set top box meanwhile.
You can recharge if you want, it would get added to account balance even if the pack isn’t updated.
Previously, I only had a Kannada pack on D2H (removed sports pack and English pack long back because it wasn’t worth it anymore for me because of JioTV for cricket and I always pirate the latest English movies anyway) and right now I have dropped many popular Kannada channels from Star and Sun (Udaya) and yet I’ve to pay more than before. This is only because of the channel owners greed, but they will reduce prices once they see that their market share is plummeting and ad revenues are gonna dry up. I absolutely love the new rules even after paying more. Most of us were subsidizing those who paid less. Now I can subscribe to those English channels and cricket season channels which I actually want to watch and not pay a ridiculous amount more just for a couple of channels or HD channels.
PS: TRAI just made pappu gandhi (and the owner of India, Sonia Gandhi) the next Prime Minister with this move though. The BJP government will get severe backlash because of this.

No offense to you, but if all it takes for the common man and woman to vote for papu is some minor inconvenience in their TV viewing experience, instead of all the tax breaks they got and the stability of country and good infra growth and 0 terror attack on civilians. Then that common man deserves the corrupt Sonia papu Priyanka Damad rule. So be it.
Guys leave it. This rule will cause inconvenience for few, few will be happy for reduced bills and few others (like me) won’t feel anything (because I have stopped watching traditional TV channels and removed digital cable setup.)

Pay only for what you want to watch. Then why we need to pay network fee for 100 channels.
Because the people involved with the networks or cable operators don’t get their hardware for free or have people working for free and they have loans to pay up as well for creating a vast infrastructure. But if people like you will volunteer to work for free, they can reduce prices of that as well even more quickly. 154rs is max, they can charge half of that too.

TRAI is making fool people by saying new rules will cut down dth price. Now all broadcasters have increased their popular channels price to maximum and yes still they gonna show more ads. Because its india. People getting richer and poorer every day
TRAI aside which I won’t disagree with, poor/poverty Indians are actually getting richer everyday by coming into the lower middle class and the lower middle class going into the upper middle class slowly and upper middle class going into the lower rich class. India is in the midst of a gigantic monetary churn because of the economy and millions are getting out of poverty. This scale is second only to the Chinese middle class boom. Do not superimpose the American reality into the Indian reality.
