I came here to read your views on it but since a thread does not exist yet, I am creating one. Let this be the single place to read info about how to prevent this devil from entering your body. Those of you who are in Noida / Bangalore, what are your views? Assuming the Noida man had this thing since 20th Feb, he would have gone to a lot of crowded places in last 10 days and since incubation period is 15 days, we may not know who all locally caught this in last 10 days !

169 cases with 5 deaths already today, guess the pattern or next 3 days is 150-200 cases per day

Also in some states including Telangana, they are not testing some people who are coming with symptoms of Corona but are only quarantining them. Probably because of the fear of increase in case counts? confused

And all this just in the meagre number of tests we have done till now. The actual infected count would be so much more right at this point of time.

As many as 227 new coronavirus cases and three deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, the Centre said on Tuesday. A total of 1,251 cases have been reported in the country so far.

“227 new cases of COVID-19 and three deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, thus, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 1,251 and the number of deaths to 32 in the country,” Lav Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, told media.

He also said that the three deaths have been reported from Gujarat, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. “The sudden increase in the number of confirmed cases has been due to delay in informing the authorities,” Aggarwal added.

“To contain the spread of coronavirus, the ministry is working with the state governments on finding the contacts of the new cases which have been confirmed,” he further said. — ANI

China Concealed Extent of Virus Outbreak, U.S. Intelligence Says

China has concealed the extent of the coronavirus outbreak in its country, under-reporting both total cases and deaths it’s suffered from the disease, the U.S. intelligence community concluded in a classified report to the White House, according to three U.S. officials.

The officials asked not to be identified because the report is secret and declined to detail its contents. But the thrust, they said, is that China’s public reporting on cases and deaths is intentionally incomplete. Two of the officials said the report concludes that China’s numbers are fake.

The report was received by the White House last week, one of the officials said.

Maha opts for blood tests for quick nCoV detection

The Centre has allowed Maharashtra to conduct rapid COVID-19 tests to expedite the detection of coronavirus cases, state Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Thursday. The state government will use blood samples instead of swabs in rapid tests for coronavirus detection, Tope said. Talking to reporters after Prime Minister Modi held a video conference with all chief ministers to discuss ways to check the spread of coronavirus, Tope also said that around 3.25 lakh migrant labourers are in state-run shelters across Maharashtra. Besides Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the video conference was also attended by Tope ans state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

“The prime minister has informed us that the state can now carry out rapid tests for early detection of coronavirus cases. We will be using blood samples for the early detection of COVID-19 infection,” Tope said.

Modi also asked the Maharashtra government to take care of migrant workers in the state in view of the lockdown. “There are some 3.25 lakh migrant labourers in various state-run facilities. Modiji asked us to not only take care of their food, but to also provide them television so that they can have some entertainment and do not leave the shelter homes,” the health minister said. — PTI
