Comparing Laptop Protection Plans / Extended Warranty available across different platforms
I have tried to include feedback from @guest_999 and @bikidas2060
- Before buying a high-end laptop, one must make sure that the device will be eligible for extended warranty (EW)/accidental damage protection (ADP)/ Accidental or Liquid Damage (ADLD).
- Nowadays, never buy a laptop without at least 2 years ADP along with standard warranty.

@bikidas2060 has mentioned the ongoing Extended warranties for Lenovo and Asus in his thread Laptop Deals at one place.
Full thread: Lenovo 3 Years ADP and Warranty for Lenovo Laptops at never before Price at 999 | DesiDime
Offer Period: 26th Sept 2024 -6th Oct 2024
As per @bikidas2060 , laptops purchased from amzon from reputed sellers have been eligible for the lenovo offer. But, its only 2 days remaining for the offer to come to a close. Most likely, you wont get the delivery by then. So, chances are, the registration closes by the time you get to unbox your laptop.
Compare these with HP, additional 2 years of accident and liquid damage cover is priced at ₹28,928 (incl. of all taxes)
For HP's extended warranty offers, you need to wait for June next year. They bring up "Back to College" Offer every year between June to Aug. Last brochure. Although, one amazon reviewer noted that his purchase on amazon was not considered eligible for the offer. Read HERE. He notes: "Unfortunately, your claim has been rejected due to the purchase being made through an unauthorized channel partner, i.e., "Amazon - Appario Retail Private Ltd - Coimbatore.""
While buying expensive laptops (specially those above 1L),
1. Either buy lenovo, without additional warranty packs from amz/FK. Buy fast and try to get the delivery by 5th Oct. Register online under the extended warranty offer. Refer to @bikidas2060 thread for details.
2. Or buy ASUS with similar strategy. Timeline would be a bit relaxed.
3. In absence of brand warranty offers, or if the offers are a joke (like HP), go for Flipkart's total protection (3 years) offer. Bit expensive, but would save your day, when things go south.
4. Avoid buying extended warranty plans currently offered at amazon. (i.e. to put it simple, avoid buying expensive laptops from amazon, until they come to sense with their extended warranty plans.) Regardless of the "slightly better" pricing of the product itself.

do not buy amazon or flipkart based warranty. always go for manufacturer warranty. fk or amzn may not fulfil the deal but manufacturer is bound to do the replacement or something like that because of the tnc. there are always loopholes in the platform warranties.
without at least 2 years ADP along with standard warranty.>>>> what if shit happens on the 800th day?
