For me its very old new this happened with me in January no matter what you do if you got first mail with 30 days remaining then 100% after 30-45 days you will get msg all money is deducted and account is closed and that money you will rcv via check on your registered address. Bank will not provide any help in this they only help you in tracking cheque so you can get it fast.

Yeh kya ho raha hai yahan? smile I opened account in ICICI bank last month just to get APay credit card and they are closing account. I hope they close my account after I get credit card. smile

Its because of government notification. As people were receiving money from business carried out in their personal account. So for income tax purpose government has set a limit. They also have to report all the savings account with large no of transactions to income tax department.

I think this ia because you have registered as merchant on amazon or paytm or phonepe upi. I am not sure about this.. But this may be one of the reason..

@drupal @bikidas2060 I suggest stick to topic with no political allegations. @drupal you should stick to profit vs non-profit nature of pvt banks(this issue is purely profit based btw, if you keep 10 lakh in icici fd then even if you do 1000 upi txns monthly I doubt icici will give anything more than a "gentle reminder" or maybe give you a free zero charge current acc as gift).

I am using icici since last 10 years maintained good balance they gave me free privilege upgrade and never bothered me, yes ofcourse some people open only for daily deposit daily withdrawal that's the problem

Then I would say HDFC is better in this case, i see mostly every year credit debit transactions value exceed 70-80 lacs and some times 1 cr also. And still no msg nothing. And interesting fact is the average balance will be below 5k for whole year in this account. Basically its just there for salary credit, stock sale credit etc.

They want you to use credit card more not debit card. Tell them u want to buy icici credit card for yourself and family. Or want a home loan. Or if you have a loan give application for loan transfer to sbi. They might give option to retain account.

These restrictions only applicable to regular accounts. If anyone want to do high volume of transactions upgrade your accounts to hni accounts they have no restrictions

Even my account is still open. As per message, this should be closed by 23Sept. I went to Bank and bank employee told that if you have received message, definitely this will close so keep your balance zero. I tried UPI through pockets but final payment page, changing automatically to pockets UPI. It seems that they have disabled UPI payment.
