Indian railways nowadays become very chaotic and unbearable even for reserved seat customers
You may heard news of deaths due to rush during diwali and chhath, but day to day travel is also become very difficult in these trains
Let's understand the reason behind it
In past railway passenger rake had 4 general coaches around 12-13 sleeper coaches and 4-5 AC coaches but now most of the long distance trains are running with only 4 sleeper class coaches 2 general coaches and 13 AC coaches
These trains cover around 1500-2500 kilometer distance in a run and stop on almost every city railway station, you can imagine how only two general coaches going to fulfil requirement of a 2000 km travel, due to heavy rush general class travellers are forced to board sleeper class which is already out of capacity but TTE allows them to stay in sleeper class by charging hefty fine ( they don't tell them to leave reserved coach but say ticket banwalo) and those who paid for ticket have to do struggle for moving inside the train even toilet access gets restricted people sleeping on train floor sitting in toilets and what not.....

Increasing AC are much better why would someone will prefer sleeper for long distance anyways in winters. 3EC was also introduced to accomodate more travellers.
Anyways these are false news, the composition of coaches remains same as before. Please fact check befor posting.

This not a news this is reality baaki to opindia ke alwa sab fake news hi ha kyunki fake news peddlers ab khud hi fact check kar rahe hai the train combination I posted above is well known to me I personally know and seen the coaches combination before 2023
It is reality that train map posted in OP was different before 2023 it was running with 12-13 sleeper coaches and 4 general coaches 2 GN coaches engine 2 GN coaches in last
Now they changed coach combination and trying to hide behind fake fact checks by their paid puppets
I am talking about normal train in this post and that so called fake fact check is about some unknown special train whic has nothing to do with this post
Recently, a small incident happened with me, since the SL class normal reservation was booked, and plenty of tatkal tickets were available, so I booked a tatkal ticket and boarded the train. After one station, so many people started boarding the SL class and one of the person told me to adjust on my upper berth, make his child sit on it , that child was an adult , going to college, I told till where you have to go, he told all the way to the last station,I was like look elsewhere, then he sat on the next upper birth opposite to me, when the train was about to leave , his dad taunted me and told nowadays people are not ready to adjust, what kind of world we're living in. That day I felt it's worthless to book a tatkal ticket when I have to hear this from other people.
I can understand the pain, there is no use of sleeper class now because 4 sleeper coaches can't bear burden of 13 sleeper coaches and 200 waitlisted passengers and 2 removed general coach passengers
Until every region grow evenly, this problem will continue. Even if railway manages to handle on regular days, it is almost impossible to manage on festival seasons. It is mainly due to migration. So every region has to grow evenly. It will reduce migration.

Also One thing you forgot to mention most of the migrant workers from north india don't even buy tickets as well as occupy the reserved seats. It is extremely irritating that those people have absolutely no shame in travelling without buying tickets and that too occupying the reserved seats. This needs to be stopped and those without tickets should be punished with hefty fines to recover the losses incurred by the railways because of these creatures😡😡

To solve the issue prices of general class should be tripled and sleeper class doubled ac 1.5x Then only the railways can sustain and maintain previous number of bogies

To ease the path of privatisation government is heavily reducing sleeper and general coaches on rushy routes to cause as much inconvenience as possible to common man, where there is no rush they are running with full general and sleeper capacity,
On the occasion of Diwali and chhath they converted festival into aapda and then created awsar by snatching almost all sleeper and general coaches of rushy route normal trains and then they created new "special trains" using those removed coaches with sleeper fare equivalent to 3AC and then accused and mocked poor people that government is running special trains but ganwaars of up bihaar not boarding those 3x fare trains
Now middle class people are forced to take AC class ticket to travel long distance.
While many reasons highlighted are valid, one important reason is also the need of people to go home exactly on a given day (i.e. day before Chhath Puja, day before Diwali, day before long weekend etc).
People not well-off either lack holidays altogether or cannot afford to take an extra day or two off. They must get into that one available train even if it means having a hellish ride.
People commenting on DD though generally tend to be well-off / AC affording types. Corporates give enough holidays for the year and if people just used them instead of travelling on peak travel days they would give themselves a comfortable ride. I know so many people who conserve leaves to encash them later on for their basic pay.
my company need to on 50% present in Indian festival days. i got celebrate first few festival with luck.
because current govt is focussed on bullet trains vande bharats etc. and not addressing the real issue of affordable fast timely travel, every week viswaguru flags off a vande bharat fare of which is 1800 in normal or 2500 for executive class whereas in real the fare was approx 350 rs sometime back for normal sleepers, already 3ac fares are equal to flight fare, wait till bullet train arrives, i mean who will pay 8000 rupees to travel mumbai delhi etc. even vande bharat is not affordable at all with such ridiculous fares, dont give me crap of packed samosa bhujia and ac chairs hijacking the cost etc.

Concession of 53 per cent on an average to every person travelling on Railways is being availed.
There are people who need better facility, Price is not a concern for them.
Many Millionaires are leaving the country for better facility and life, who used to contribute the most the in economy of the country, but if they leave, they take the Money with them to invest in other countries, then?
What are the ways, they don't leave the country?
Imagine Govt focusing only on poor people, middle class people, Won't rich feel sidelined and what will stop them from leaving the country?
At one side Mega Projects/Modern Cities are being built and at another side Basic necessities are being provided for free/subsidized rate to poor/middle class people.
Taking everyone along is the only way.

Govt has become a Corporate Company now looking after profits only. Though the title is mentioned as 50%, in some cases almost 90% sleeper coaches reduced. Feeling sad to those who are forced to travel in AC. Another interesting part is that some trains are deliberately cancelled just to increase bookings in Vande Bharat. Real shame.
57% calculation is just another fraud by government just like lpg gas cylinder fraud in which they are selling Rs.400 cylinder at Rs 1000 rupees and giving 15 rupees subsidy and saying we are selling cylinder in loss
They are installing just two general coaches in long distance of 2000 km train and selling unlimited tickets on all connecting railway station stuffing people in general class worst than animals and saying we are doing Ahsaaan
They are pushing for vande Bharat, if you read about it then you will find out on many routes number of coaches has been reduced to half as people can't afford these.
Government wants to increase prices to sustain as they want huge investment. They can't fund everything from pocket afterall.
After reducing number of sleeper coaches, people are paying premium to get seats. I travelled with AC once by 2016. Now, I have to book AC all the time. Apart from that few trains has dynamic pricing.
No point in crying as people say that they will pay ₹5k for gas cylinder. Government knows their followers are blind and they will cry to sleep but at the end vote will go to the same party.
Enjoy...after few years they might remove sleeper coaches and replace it with seaters or they will launch some train with sleeper coaches and jack up the price.
in a country with such a large population, trains need to be equipped with more number of GS and S class, what more? actually there should be exclusive trains with only GS, 2S and SL (optional) classes.

My Dad's beloved "Senior Citizen" concession is not available 😏, even after minting so much money, Everyone hiked prices during Covid and nobody reduced it to normal (like doctors OPD charges) 😄

If anyone defending this move then he didn't travel at all. The inconvenience, this has caused to all the other compartment passengers are beyond measure. What is this shit that they write that they only cover 57% of actual ticket fare. Whenever I read this only one thing comes to my mind, incompetency at the highest level and nothing else. Fun fact:- I am never ever able to book ticket within one week time frame , it's always 3 month or more. They also last year removed the old age conseccion. They had taken most insane decision in last few years but that shit about we only cover 57% of fare didn't change at all. I do not think that they even considered us as human beings at all.

But i see the other way....it is a very sad reality that we Indians donot follow rules....why these general class ticket holders board reserved coaches?....isn't it against the rules?....If there are any emergencies,then it is okay...but other morons just board whatever coaches they see and sit wherever they can see a empty seat....they are an absolute thrash to deal with....these people are mostly drunkards and sleep wherever they find space.....its a big pain in the arse for the TTE too to deal with such idiots....Our country would be more nice if all us follow all the rules and be responsible....
Not only here, be in road manners, or keeping our place tidy....almost 95 percent of us dont give a damn sheet and jeep ruining our country..... Its sad but real....

This 57% of fee from each passenger is a stupid joke.
They don't even refund complete amount for wait listed tickets. Robbing a bit each from the innumerous waitlisted people.
And the general tickets they issue also is limitless even for just two compartments, I wonder how many people they think they can accommodate in the two dabbas.
And for robbing double charges for each berth in the name of RAC, the less said the better.
