First Download the update and place it in sd card
1.Power off your device and wait 4-5 seconds after lights go off.
2.Press and hold Power + Volume Up button together for a few seconds and then release the buttons as soon as you see the boot menu screen
└ In boot menu, use Volume Up scroll between options and Volume Down to confirm (OK) an option. [there should be recovery option]
3. When you click that, you will see exclamation mark
To bring up the Recovery menu•Power+VolUp to show recovery menu
•Must be this sequence Press/Hold Power, THEN Press/Release VolUp, release Power
Within menu•VolUp to move up
•VolDn to move down
•Power to select
If power+volume up doesn’t work, try power+volume down
4. Once stock recovery shows up, select “Install zip from sd card” and select the downloaded file and flash it
Power button is for selection, volume up and down for navigation
What makes you think I can do this properly?EDIT: With Redmi it was just… paste the zip file in a specific location, go to updates and select the zip file for installation. Can Google not come up with something as simple?
Haha, this is kinda simple only
Try that if you succeed, cool
If you couldnt, just remove the battery and place it again and reboot. Unless you have tried to flash the wrong rom [which is not possible with stock recovery] you cant brick your device and everything will be normal when you reboot
I also first feared to update using the above process. but waited from 6 oct to 08 oct. After that my eagerness won and tried to install as per the above procedure on 9 oct. The proces is very easy and you have to do as it is mentioned.
Please download the 444 mb file. (338 mb file shows error for me when tried to install)

My used links and the procedure given below
https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota/goo...
Steps to manually install Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update on Android One Sprout4 devices
Step 1: Download the official Marshmallow OTA update using the links provided.
Step 2: Connect your smartphone to computer using the original USB cable.
Step 3: Copy and paste the OTA zip files to phone’s storage and make a note of its location.
Step 4: Boot your smartphone into recovery mode or stock recovery: Disconnect the phone from computer, and then turn it off.
Press and hold both the Volume and the Power buttons until the display turns on and enters bootloader mode.
Hit the volume button to open the Recovery menu and then press the power button to select it. Your phone should now boot into recovery mode.
At this moment, a dead Android with an exclamation mark should appear on the screen. Now press and hold Power button for three seconds and then hit the Volume up button once to progress into recovery mode.
Step 5: Return to the main recovery screen and choose ‘install update from sdcard’.
Step 6: Then select the OTA zip file using the volume buttons for navigation and the Power button to select any file or open a folder. After you select the zip file, confirm its installation and the update should start installing on your device.
Step 7: Once the installation is done, return to main screen of recovery. Choose Reboot system now to restart the phone and boot into the newly installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update from Google.
All the best
PM me in case of any help reqd.

You say the zip file should be copied to SD card. Kamal says it has to be Phone storage. What should I do? @getready

Right. Got it after connecting to PC. Followed the steps… It is getting updated. Thanks. But it’s definitely not within 2 mins as you said.

You are completely stock right? I mean you havent rooted and installed custom recoveries like TWRP or CWM or Philiz?
This update package only works for stock recovery for devices without any modifications
Do one thing, remove the sd card, use an adapater to plug in to pc and check the file system of it
If it says FAT32 or ExFat, format the SD card to NTFS
If it says NTFS, format to FAT32
It shouldnt be on exFat most probably, as this is mostly used for linux kernals
and after formatting, place the update zip file in the sd card and try to update

Not much, max 5min
can I install this on my micromax Android one???
i have spared sealed pack.. if anyone want .. pM me number..
Haha, this is kinda simple only
Try that if you succeed, cool
If you couldnt, just remove the battery and place it again and reboot. Unless you have tried to flash the wrong rom [which is not possible with stock recovery] you cant brick your device and everything will be normal when you reboot
