2. What makes you feel proud to be Indian ? 70 years after independence, India is one of the newest independent nations. Yet India has emerged as a mighty nation outsourcing manpower in various technical fields. It is enlisted among the worlds most powerful nations. The economy structure of India is under a tremendous growth. Yet India has maintained it's cultural heritage (although you may find influence of westernization, but the heart remains typical Indian). In-spite of being home to few major religions, and a home to more than 1700 dialects, the sense of unity is amazing. Indians have displayed it's power of unity during the floods, earthquakes, tsunami, Kargil war, bomb blast series, etc. It's very difficult for a nation, as densely populated as India to to maintain the heritage of so many groups and yet remain united. Considering the picture of the nation represented by media, India should have been a backlogged nation. On the contrary the facts about the global presence of India are quite amazing. Mahatma Gandhi, Father of Indian NationMohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi, led the nation through the Indian freedom struggle with his ideologies of ‘Ahimsa’ or non-violence, Civil Disobedience Movement and Swaraj.

Mahatma Gandhi’s principles believed in truth and non-violence as the key points to lead a moral and peaceful life. Gandhi always believed in simple living and high thinking. For him, service to mankind is service to God. His entire thinking one can feel in his writings, especially in his auto biography, ‘My Experiments with Truth’.

Without You India freedom is impossible and thank u Gandhi and u r the one who let all indians into freedom

Freedom Fighter : Rani Lakshmi Bai

Honoring the original woman icon of India: Jhansi Rani Lakshmi Bai !

https://cdn0.desidime.com/attachments/photos/257296/medium/3518143rani_lakshmi_bai.jpg?1480958116

The Indian struggle for freedom wasn’t just a man’s affair but thousands of women too fought with bravery to bring back this nation’s pride and Rani Lakshmi Bai’s name shines in the list. “Khoob ladi mardani wo to Jhansi wali Rani thi” (She fought a man’s war, she was Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi). These words wonderfully talk about the bravery with which she fought the British army to save her reign over the Princely state of Jhansi. Rani Lakshmi Bai led her troop, the largest women army till date, and fought the battle against the British.

Rani Lakshmi Bai, the fiery Queen of Jhansi, is an inspiration for every woman in the country today.

On Independence Day Indians pay their tribute to the freedom fighters and leaders who fought to make India a free and sovereign nation. This is the day which is declared as gazetted holiday and all major government buildings are illumined with lights, candles and tricolor flutters. President of India delivers a speech to “Address to the Nation” on the evening of the Independence Day. The Prime Minister of India hosts the tricolor at the red fort which is followed by cultural programs at the capital of India where most of the organizations, Indian army, Indian navy and schools participate.

1. Admire each and every one of the great souls who fought for what we take for granted today. If I have to choose one over others, it will be Netaji, for how he wanted to take the fight to the Britishers.
2. Many things: Religious tolerance, Unity in Diversity, Citizen Rights like Right to Information. But what I admire most is that we are probably the most peaceful nation in the world. In almost 5000 years of our history, we never attacked any country first. Furthermore, during the aftermath of WW2, when all nations were being pooled into either the US or Soviet Block, India showed a neutral way is possible and started the Non-Alligned Movement.

I feel very proud whenever I hear word “India”
Because that is the only word makes me #Special as I am Indian
Sorry not only India a Proud one!
“A Proud Indian”

My favorite freedom fighter is “Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji”

He is the symbol of the heroism of the youth of India. A revolutionary He threw a bomb when the Legislature was in session to warn the British Government. He was put to death but lives in the hearts of his countrymen.

Also want to share him poetry with everyone here!

Love him, Respect him!

Now what makes me feel proud about being Indian haa?

In India you will find all religion locality starts from Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Jainism, Buddhism and Many more.
This show the unity,

As a freedom fighter I am inspired from Kasturba Gandhi because 3520203kasturba-gandhi1 कस्तूरबा गांधी, महात्मा गांधी के ‘स्वतंत्रता कुमुक’ की पहली महिला प्रतिभागी थीं. I really appreciate her because what MARTYRDOM give her it is really never forgottable for india. I like her few quotes very much which are: 3520203kasturba-gandhi-197 3520203kasturba-gandhi-196 3520203kasturba-gandhi-200
