My first online shopping was in 2002, Philips walkman with addon speakers. If i remember correctly, i got a gift voucher worth 1000 which i had to use on a specific site (dont remember) and nothing of interest was available at that time so bought a Walkman. It was a great experience and product was good although delivery took around 10 days.

Wow this is a wonderful thread and I should appreciate the person who has come up with this idea.
To think about the first online shopping… first of all gets me a nostalgic feeling and takes me to a time long long back
In 2001 when ebay was the only online option and I had a dial in internet of BSNL. I tried using their auction option – bid for a product “fly trap”. Strangely this item because only this was available for auction. Won the bid for Rs 50 but did not had the payment mode (credit/debit card etc) so just left it.

My first successful online purchase was in 2006 for booking train ticket through IRCTC and when I had a job and my own debit card.
After which online bookings for train, flight, pizzahut continued for several years.
The first product purchase was in 2010 from site called tradus.in (closed now) where I bought a Bajaj mixer grinder. After which my actual online journey to buy products online started.
