This happened in the past as well. Customer care ppl says gift vouchers are not allowed, but everybody gets cashback on gift vouchers. Refer only TnCs.
at present AMEX is not allowed to issue any new cards on their own .. you can only get cobranded amex cards (which are not worth).

anyone who did the transaction earlier than 13 Aug 9 AM IST may not get the cashback easily/automatically as their system in in MST timezone and they must have recorded 12 Aug as transaction date. Offer is valid from 13 Aug onwards.
