In old tax regime there was further benefit of ₹50000 to retired/senior citizens which is not available in new regime.😞

For my family, not all benefit from new budget. It appears that new tax regime will be ok for self-employed working professionals (me). For retired with moderate to high income (parents), will have to calculate and see. The difference also might be insignificant.

Many senior citizens used to go for old regime and there were no takers for the new one. Now I think Government wants everyone to move taxation to new regime so no incentives for old one and all concessions for the new one. Slowly they may scrap old system and discourage all the benefits of savings and investments under old one.
