Uber Bus Shuttle service in Kolkata is all set to launch soon. The new Uber shuttle service in the city of castles, Kolkata will help office-goers and other people commute easily at affordable prices. These AC-bus rides will be available to hail from 06:00 AM in the morning to 10:00 PM in the night. A memorandum of understanding, or MOU was signed during the Bengal Global Business Summit 2023.

Uber Shuttle in Kolkata is a new initiative brought by Uber in partnership with the IAS, Secretary, Transport Department., Government of West Bengal.

On the Bengal Global Business Summit 2023 held on November 21st to 22nd, the Director - Operations head of Uber India & South Asia, Mr. Shiva Shailendran announced the launch of Uber Shuttle service in Kolkata to improve public transport services and expand available transport options to make commuting hassle-free.

Uber Bus service in Kolkata is expected to launch by March 2024 next year. Earlier this year in May, the government of Bengal also introduced 100 more AC buses on the streets of Kolkata to ease travel for commuters With more than lakhs of daily passengers commuting in buses, the new Uber Bus Shuttle service in Kolkata will help relieve some strain on the city’s transport infrastructure.

The bus shuttle service will have a capacity of 60 AC buses and the shuttle service will be available to passengers on “predefined routes connecting business districts with residential areas”

The exact routes of these buses haven’t been disclosed yet. But we can expect the Uber AC buses to run on busy routes like Howrah Junction, Ultadanga, Dharmatala, B.B.D Bagh & others.

Note that the Uber AC Buses will work similarly to other public transport buses as in having public pick-up and drop points. The Uber Shuttle buses will drop you to your nearest drop-off stop.

The Uber shuttle services in Kolkata will be available from 06:00 AM in the morning to 10:00 PM in the night. During this time period, passengers can easily pre-book their bus seats, track their bus location in real time, and know the exact timing of their bus.
