Redmi Note 12 Series in India Launch Date, Price, Specs | Worth it?

Xiaomi has officially announced the launch of the Redmi Note 12 series in the month of January 2023. It has been one of the most anticipated series of Redmi that has been creating buzz ever since the first leak of its industry-first features like a 200MP camera, full HD+ AMOLED display, and Dolby Vision support. Below we have tried to mention everything you need to know about Redmi Note 12 series, its launch date in India, full specifications, its price, and if we think the Redmi Note 12 series is good or not.

Redmi Note 12 series leaks were announced a couple of months ago. Though at that time it was not sure if Xiaomi was going to launch its flagship series, Redmi Note 12 in India. However, the good news is that the Chinese company has finally officially announced the launching of the Redmi Note 12 series in India on launch date January 5, 2023.

The Redmi Note 12 series includes 4 new Redmi smartphones as follows:

• Redmi Note 12

• Redmi Note 12 Pro

• Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G

• Redmi Note 12 Discovery or Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition

Redmi is a brand that is known for bringing some of the best budget mobile phones. The predecessor of the Redmi Note 12 series, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G & Redmi Note 11 Pro, both were launched earlier year in 2022. Redmi Note 11 Pro was packed with a Snapdragon 695 chipset and now the Redmi Note 12 is powered by a similar chipset such as Snapdragon 4th Gen 1, both of these chipsets are almost similar in their performance.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro though is packed with an even more powerful chipset like Mediatek Dimensiy 1080 which again is a direct competitor to the Snapdragon 778G chipset. The ultimate Redmi’s flagship model, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is almost identical to Redmi Note 12 Pro. The only major difference between the two new Redmi mobile phones is their camera. The Redmi Note 12 Pro comes with a 50MP camera and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ comes with a 200MP camera.

The previously launched Redmi Note 11 Pro boasted a 108 MP camera which in the Redmi Note 12 Pro is replaced by a 50 MP camera. So while the brand seems to have toned down the camera specs in its new Redmi 12 Pro as compared to the Redmi Note 11 Pro, it has compensated for it in terms of the chipset that powers both of these smartphones.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro is powered by a more powerful chipset Mediatek Dimensity 1080 as compared to Mediatek G96 in the Redmi Note 11 Pro. So, if you are looking for a more powerful smartphone, you may consider upgrading to the Redmi Note 12 Pro

Xiaomi Redmi Noe 12 series comes with some notable improvements over its predecessor Redmi Note 11 series. Even if we look at the most basic model of the Redmi 12 series, Redmi Note 12 smartphone, it comes with some great features such as a full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. But the processor, Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 though is almost identical to what we were getting in the Redmi Note 11 or Redmi Note 11 Pro.

Our suggestion would be to go with the Redmi Note 12 Pro or Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G over the basic, Redmi Note 12 as the latter models provide a better value for money. Also, the processors in both the latter models, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G are much more powerful. Overall, the Redmi Note 12 series is sure to pique the interest of the tech community and it won’t be unfair to say that the series is well-deserving of it too. It would be interesting to see If Xiaomi launches the Redmi Note 12 series under 25K (as they have mentioned)
