Are you a Jio user wondering if your smartphone supports Jio 5G or not? Don’t worry, you are at the right place. In this article, we are going to share a list of the Jio 5G Supported Smartphones from brands like Xiaomi, Samsung, Realme, Oppo, iQOO, Vivo, OnePlus, Apple iPhone and more. Earlier we had shared that Jio has launched the Jio 5G service in 4 Indian cities. The cities included Mumbai, Delhi, Varanasi & Kolkata.
Though currently, the Jio 5G is only available to select users, very soon we can expect the telecom brand to roll out its 5G services for all users across India. But, to use Jio 5G on your smartphone device, it has to be compatible with the bands that Jio 5G supports. So, let’s quickly have a look at the bands Jio supports as well as a list of smartphone devices supported for Jio 5G.
How to check if my smartphone supports 5G?
5G is a powerful 5th-generation mobile network that needs specific bands to function. Not all smartphones are compatible with a 5G network. The Jio 5G as per the brand is a “True 5G” network and is far superior as compared to other operators who are deploying a non-Standalone version of 5G that operates on their 4G core. Currently, Jio 5G supports the following bands: n28, n78, n258 bands. So, getting to use 5G under appropriate tariff plans would be incredible. Luckily, finding out if your smartphone supports 5G or not is not as difficult. Just follow the simple steps given below.
Step 1: Go to the Settings app on your smartphone
Step 2: Click on the ‘SIM card & mobile data’ option
Step 3: Select a SIM
Step 4: Check the ‘preferred network type’ under the SIM info and settings menu.
Step 5: Here you’d see a number of networks displayed such as 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G depending on your device model.
If you see 5G in this list, consider yourself lucky because it means your device supports a 5G network.
