Reliance Jio in a statement released yesterday announced a “global first-of-its-kind prepaid bundle partnership with Netflix” in which the telecom operator has brought 2 new plans such as a 1099 Jio recharge plan (with Netflix) and a 1499 Jio prepaid plan with Netflix.

The move is said to be in alignment with Netflix’s aim to attract more customers to its line-up of Indian content on the streaming platform and increase its subscriber base in Asia’s key market, India.

A Netflix subscription is already available on select Jio Postpaid and Jio Fiber plans, but this is the first time that a Netflix subscription will be available on a prepaid plan. With this launch, over 400 million Jio prepaid customers will get the option of availing a Netflix subscription through a Jio Prepaid bundled plan.”

“Earlier this year, Netflix announced a slate of exciting Tamil and Telugu language films including Beast, Godfather, Dhamaka, Love Today, Major, Dasara, and Virupaksham. Notably, this is the first time that Netflix will be made available to users through a bundled telco prepaid plan.”
