Jio dumps 1499 & 4199 plans (only last OTT benefits prepaid plans!)

Jio Rs.1499 and Rs.4199 are now scraped by the telecom brand. These two mobile prepaid plans, Jio Rs.1499 & Jio Rs.4199 were the only last two remaining mobile prepaid plans by Reliance Jio with Disney+ Hotstar OTT benefits.

Previously if you remember and are aware, Reliance Jio had removed 12 of its mobile prepaid plans that came with extra OTT benefits of Disney+ Hotstar. At the time, these Rs.1499 and Rs.4199 plans by Jio were the only ones left with a complimentary Disney+ Hotstar OTT subscription benefit. 

The Rs.1499 & Rs.4199 plans by Jio, both are not available any more on the Reliance Jio website.

Though it is not clear yet why the telecom brand, Reliance Jio has decided to remove its OTT benefits plans, there are some rumored reasons why the giant telecom brand could be doing this:

• A possible reason could be Reliance Industries’ growing interest in the OTT space. Reliance Industries-owned Viacom 18 has won the streaming rights of IPL 2023 to 2027. It is supposed that Reliance Jio may want users to focus on its owned platforms such as Voot

• The other possible reason was said to be that the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar may want to increase its revenue during the T20 World Cup. Though this reason does not seem to be as strong now.

• Some users are also supposing that a price hike may come in the Jio Tariff plans and hence the removal of Jio Rs.1499 and Jio Rs.4199 mobile prepaid plans

As said above, these are only some speculations on why Jio could be removing its Disney+ Hotstar subscription Rs.1499 and Rs.4199 plans.

• Jio Rs.4199 mobile prepaid plan (newly removed by Jio)

All of these Jio Mobile prepaid plans discontinued which earlier came with extra OTT benefits. Now the only Jio mobile prepaid recharge plans available come with Jio’s own subscription apps such as Jio Security, Jio TV, Jio Cloud & JioCinema.

Reliance Jio has also announced roaming plans for Football World Cup as well as the giant telecom brand made its Jio 5G launch in select states and cities including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi & more.
