The company Reliance Jio Infocomm, known as Jio today, launched its 4G services back on September 5, 2016. On the occasion of turning 7 today, Jio's 7th Anniversary Offer is providing users with extra data benefits on select prepaid plans. Reliance Jio announced yesterday its Jio 7th Anniversary Offer, which includes bonus data benefits on select prepaid plans. These prepaid plans start from Rs.299 to Rs.2999 with 1-year validity. • Open the MyJio app on your smartphone.

• Tap the Recharge tab at the bottom.

• Select from the available prepaid plans with Jio Anniversary Offer

• Enter your Jio number for recharge.

• Make payments using UPI, net banking, or cards.

• After payment, the plan will be activated and the voucher will be made available in your MyJio app.

The offer benefits are non-transferable which means you cannot really share these vouchers with anyone else. Also, Jio hasn’t disclosed yet if it is mandatory to use the MyJio app for recharge or if users can use any other 3rd party app too. However, for its 6th anniversary, Jio was allowing customers to avail of the anniversary offer through any online or offline platform.

Reliance Jio established in the year 2007 has come a long way. The telecom was the first to launch 4G services commercially in 2016 and turned the telecom sector upside down by offering 1 GB of data per day as compared to 1 GB of data per month offered by all other players at that time. As per reports, Reliance Jio infocomm’s user base stands at over 441.92 million users while Bharti Airtel stands at 224.37 million users in the fiscal year, 2023. What’s more interesting is that Bharti Airtel entered the market much prior to Jio, back in 1975 as compared to 2007 for Jio.

But wait, Bharti Airtel became the first telecom to bring 5G Services to India. Both of these telco competitors have their 5G services in over 200 cities in India.
