Flipkart is in talks with the government-backed ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) to start online food ordering on its platform (mostly app). A month back, the government asked Amazon and Flipkart to include ONDC storefronts on their platforms so more people get aware of its various sellers and products. This might be the reason for the launch of Flipkart ONDC Food.
Along with local outlets, ONDC is expected to have top food brands like Domino’s Pizza, McDonald’s, Haldiram’s, Chinese Wok, CCD, Kailash Parbat, and Subway in the Flipkart food ordering section.
Recently, ONDC had a word with the National Restaurants Association of India (NRAI) to establish seamless last-mile connectivity for food delivery, improve order tracking, enhance discoverability, and streamline operations within the food services sector. NRAI is the representative body for over 5,00,000 restaurants.
ONDC has also established a Champion Council which has distinguished representatives from various segments including casual & fine-dine chains, quick-service restaurants, cloud kitchens, cafes, and regional players. This is to foster growth and ensure smoother and broader participation from the sector. ||google_ad|
When ONDC Online Food Ordering was started last year, it offered amazing deals & discounts to take on Zomato and Swiggy. Thus, expect similar promotional offerings with the Flipkart ONDC food ordering app.
Thus, Flipkart will soon join MagicPin, Pincode (PhonePe), Paytm, Ola, Mystore, Qaddoo, TataNeu, and nStore ONDC food delivery apps! Besides, ONDC has made sales in 1200+ cities of India. Moreover, it has 1,30,000 non-mobility sellers!

These services are only good when they are launched since there are introductory offers that we can use to bring the total order value including delivery to a nominal level. When such offers are removed as the services become popular, all the over priced menu items and other charges and taxes make it worthless.
Good news! 👍🏼
