We all are aware of Zomato’s recent all-cash deal of ₹2048 Crores of buying Noida-based Paytm’s Events & Movie business. The food delivery tech giant also recently announced the launch of a new “District” app which by the way is expected to go live by September 30th.
Zomato walking in its footsteps has once again managed to create a buzz amongst users with yet another upcoming interesting feature of “Book now & sell anytime.” Keep in mind this is a move that is coming in ahead of the grand Zomato Feeding India Concert with Dua Lipa (set for 30th November 2024).
Earlier this month, we shared with you guys about Zomato’s District app launch in India. Zomato said that the District app will be launched as a separate brand similar to Blinkit. However, with District, Zomato will cater to services like movies, sports ticketing, live performances, shopping & more
In an effort to create some buzz for Zomato’s District app and of course the upcoming grand concert with the international singer & songwriter Dua Lipa hosting on 30th November, Deepinder Goyal has announced to launch of a “Book tickets now, sell anytime” feature soon.
.
What is the Zomato “Book Now, Sell Anytime” feature on District app?
Zomato app’s Book Now, Sell Anytime feature simply means users can book concert tickets and later sell them at a higher price (up to 2X of the current phase price, says Zomato).
Before you understand the Book Now, Sell Anytime feature, you need to understand how tickets are priced in the Zomato app for the 30th November Dua Lipa concert.
To explain briefly, Zomato is currently pre-selling its Dua Lipa concert tickets (only for HSBC cardholders) in three classes; Silver, Gold and Lounge.
These classes are further divided into the following pricing categories:
Phase 1 (super affordable), Phase 2 (medium-affordable to premium) and Phase 3 (premium) categories.
For example, the Silver Phase 1 ticket price is ₹3500 per person, the Silver Phase 2 ticket price is ₹4750 per person and the Silver Phase 3 ticket price is ₹6000 per person.
Likewise, Gold and Lounge classes have Phase 1 and Phase 2 pricing categories.
Explaining the Book Now, Sell Anytime feature, Zomato said “If a customer purchased an early bid ticket for INR 1,000, they can resell the ticket for up to INR 4,000 against a live price of INR 2,000.”
But the catch (seems to be) is that all the Silver Phase 1, Gold Phase 1, and Lounge Phase 1 tickets are already sold out, meaning these tickets would likely be sold at a higher price later on.
Some ultra-premium ticket categories such as Lounge Phase 2 concert tickets which cost ₹36,000 per person, which in my opinion, are quite difficult to gain further higher resale value, are still up for grabs on pre-sale.🙂

So this was about us sharing some quick details on Zomato’s Book Now, Sell Anytime feature launch. The company founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal claimed that they have seen 300k registrations on the “Notify me when tickets open up” for the Zomato Feeding India Concert. 🤔
But again, keep in mind that these are just the number of people who have shown interest by clicking on the “notify me” button (which doesn’t cost a penny)😅
Do share with us your thoughts in the comments below. Some users are pointing out that through this the company is promoting black-marketing of concert tickets. What do you think?
