Good News for iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 Pro Users | Extended Free Service for 1 More Year!

On 19th August, Apple announced that the brand is now extending one more year to its free repair service for iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 Pro users. Apple’s 3-year free repair service for iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 Pro users only covers devices purchased 3 years from the date of the first retail sale of the unit. 

The first retail sale of the iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 Pro was in 2020 and the phones became available in most countries in October 2020. So, this free service program of Apple only covers devices approximately bought between October 2020 to October 2023.

Apple launched its iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 Pro in 2020 in the month of October. The brand since then has identified “a small percentage” of users who may be facing sound issues with their iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 Pro devices. The brand says that this may be due to a component that fails at the receiver module because of which you may not be able to hear sound from the receiver when you make calls. 

To help users solve this problem, Apple has extended its free repair service for iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 Pro users for one additional year.

If you are also facing some sound issues with your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro device, you can get it serviced under the Apple Free Repair Service Program. To avail of the extended Apple free repair service, you can reach out to a nearby Apple Service Center or an Authorized Apple Service Provider to get your iPhone device serviced. 

Your iPhone then will be subjected to a prior verification to know if your device is eligible for this program. Once the verification is completed, your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro will be successfully serviced free of cost under the Apple free repair service program for iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 Pro.

Please note that as per the company rules. If your device has “any damage that imparts the repair process,” in that case, your device would first need to be repaired for the same issue and there may be a cost associated with it.

Also, the free repair service program is only available for iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 Pro users and not to the other iPhone 12 models such as iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Before service, it is recommended that you backup your iPhone to iCloud or your computer.
