Amazon Prime Gaming or Amazon Gaming, a games streaming service by Amazon was spotted by a Twitter user recently on what seems like the Prime Subscription page of Amazon’s official website. The banner read, “Prime Gaming is now live in India.” Note that this is not the first time that Amazon India has spoken of launching Prime Gaming in India. Prime Gaming in India first debuted in 2020. Though at that time, it only offered some in-game content.

This time around, Amazon India has officially launched Amazon Prime Gaming Service in India with no extra cost to Prime Subscribers.

Amazon Prime Gaming in India Launch

As per Amazon, the Prime Gaming service is live in over 200 countries that support Amazon Prime subscriptions including India. One of the coolest parts of the Amazon Gaming service, Prime Gaming is that it comes complimentary with Amazon Prime subscription. However, before users could get happy, Amazon quickly deleted the Prime Gaming launch announcement banner from its website leaving us wondering if Amazon is actually planning to launch Prime Gaming in India or not. Though good news for the awaiting users now is that Amazon Prime Gaming in India has been officially launched.

Amazon Prime Gaming comes free with Amazon Prime and Prime Video subscriptions. By using Prime Gaming, users can also get access to select games and in-game loot at no additional cost.

How to use Amazon Prime Gaming in India?

To get Amazon Prime Gaming service, you need to log in to your Amazon Prime ID and on the top right corner of your screen click on “activate Prime Gaming.” Once the service is actuated, you’d be able to play a select number of games for free. While most of the games can be accessed through Prime Gaming, there are some premium games like Battlefield 2042 and others that will require you to pay for them separately to be able to play them.

With a Prime Gaming membership you’d be able to level up with weapons, characters, skins, boosts, upgrades, and more every month with no extra fees. However, these additional items will be available for a limited time. If you do not claim them, they will lapse. You can also download the available games in the subscription on your PC.

While Jio Games can be used by even non-Jio users, it would be pretty interesting to see how Amazon Gaming would be made available for Indian users. So far, it seems that the Prime Gaming service would only be free to use for Amazon Prime members.

The gaming industry in India has only been on the rise and with that, we can expect to see some exciting launches in the Indian gaming market in the coming months or years. If you remember. Google too had launched its gaming streaming service in India but could not sustain it in the Indian gaming market.

Thanks a lot for sharing it @CMGG I personally don't think keeping it just for mobile gaming is that of a good idea
