@admin Good to see more new features coming to DD forums. Some suggestions

1. Remove trading section or if it’s not possible Allowing only dimers who have more than 1000 karmas (atleast Deal Subedars & above) to post in trading section and also the people who are buying should be having more than 1000 karmas.
2. To avoid frauds and blaming DD, get prior approval from admins & mods before entering trading section. Only admin approved people be allowed to do trading. Admins can do some minimal KYC checking or any other legal way to approve the dimer.
3. In the new version, the Dimer details on the left hand side is too big, Current version is simple and fine. Instead of horizontal presentation of karmas, fpd and dimes of each dimer… please continue with the vertical presentation.

Some app issues…. Please resolve it
1. When we try to post a comment, sometimes it is getting posted multiple times.
2. Intermittently Shows internet connection idle even when signal is very good (during wifi connection as well as 3g connection).
3. Suggestions and VU are not done sometimes, Even though it shows that you have suggested the deal. Same problem with Karma also.

Okies having got some time to listen to what fellow dimers had to say to improve the forums here are a few things i would like to highlight .

1) Community Wiki : Since the community wiki will be more updated than the Original Post it should be at the top and not the OP . As per the screenshots provided the Original Post is at the top and then the Community Wiki. Also the Original post should be collapsed and made drop down since Original Post and Community Wiki have almost the same information which end up eating the screen space. and also increase efforts scrolling to reach out to comments . Drawing inspiration from slickdeals

2) FPD Promotion : On each deal which has been promoted to the Front Page Deal the deal promoted on time should be mentioned in the thread . For time/ availability specific deals ( like Spice Uno Phones / Amazon IRCTC deal / Amazon Moto G Turbo Deal ) should be marked expired efficiently and quickly. A mechanism can be put in place maybe with the help of Community wiki or report to admin as expired deal which will enable to quickly mark an fpd invalid or expired in a faster way

3) Increasing Mod : Sorry off topic , increasing the no of moderators . Like ur team mentioned junior mods so that the deals could be promoted quicker and that frauds and moderated posts can be resolved quickly .

4) Deal/Thread Header width should not be reduced to half a page : Deal Header / Title should not be shrinked to half a page to accommodate all buttons . Maybe another ribbon/bar should be created like the current version which will include these elements . Maybe the search bar ( to search the posts in the thread should be shifted again to the top alongside the title )

5) FPD Suggested by -xyz dimers ribbon/bar looks out of its place at the moment . Seems hes lonely and feeling alone . Maybe placing it just below the add to channel/suggest fpd /alert admin bar would make more practical sense and give a better design aesthetics

6) if u notice that a lot of screen space on the right hand side of the page is being wasted . Maybe this screen space should not be wasted . Lets assume a deal is for Flipkart Womens Clothing 60% off . May be fill that inch or two with best coupons on clothing , similar deals on other websites , current trending deals and stuff . i see u currently have the features right at the botton of the page for similar deals but as an audience i last check out or rather skip that section while turning to the next page( Maybe on mobile site the bottom row makes sense but not on desktop site )

7) The individual id box with karmas , dimes and fpds seems a little huge in size . Maybe shrink it a bit . Also a more useful option to add would be to PM rather than become a fan ( Somebody pointed this out earlier )

8) Also there should post number at the top right corner of each comment which when clicked would show only the individual post and no other post from the thread . Also quoting multiple posts in the same id option through multi quote option should be available . Inspiration xda

9) When there is a conversation between two people sometimes the qoutes of each other take a lot of screen landscape .One example desidime.com/forums/hot-deals-online/topics/redmi-note-3-3-gb-version-rs-11-999?f=1&page=47#post_3252027 . So maybe after 1 or two quotes if dd collapes all the other quotes and makes it optional for the user to unhide and read those that will be fantastic . Sometimes we have to scroll ten times to reach bottom of the page because 2 or more people are having a huge conversation and keep on quoting like a big chain of quotes

10) I do not know what the reply box is doing downstairs at the bottom sitting lonely . Is a new feature like a minimalistic quick reply box . Then its fine or else merely a reply button like on our current version would suffice

11) I see ur missing the current page/ next page /previosu /last/first page ribbon at the bottom of the page . It will be to demanding for users to scroll back up to get to the next page of the thread.

12 ) the subpages to deals ,coupons,price comparison ,stores ,forums ,categories are left aligned and not taking the entire width they should now that search bar is moved at the top of the page

13) If possible increase the maximum notification limit from the existing 30 . Sometimes if it is a really trending thread 30 fills up quickly . Maybe a 50 or even 100 could be a bit better option for the forums

Some offtopic suggestion : Create a free ajax chat room where dimers can come and enter and chat. I mean like open chat . But yes since we are little carried away by our emotions which come out in foul language maybe we need to keep some monitoring out there too maybe a mod assigned cause who knows when verbal abuses and foul language start over a pity why did u vote down my thread . These can also server as platform for junior mods /mods / admins to chat with each other and discuss issues . If taken further we can create invite only chat rooms too for users .

hmm the process of karmas should be recomputed a Deal Lieutenant like John Abhraham was suspended because of his links to fraudsters ( ahh taking the name of whom is literally like taking the name of voldemort on the forums ). People are creating endless ids giving karma from one id to another . Becoming cadets ,subedars,lieutenants and then defraud the gulliable buyers . Also @bumblefoot highlighted the issue of 4 to 5 people using same ip and suggesting each others deals . Now is it a computer mistake or some real multiple identities but the issue on hand is serious . Maybe restrict or flag multiple accounts in excess of 2 or 3 from a single ip, till they provide a valid reasoning . Also maybe karma doesnt need to be given and share . The number of posts u make can increase the karma .People will contribute more and no more hassels except some continuously posting ubsurd comments to increase their post and karmas who in turn would finally be banned.

@admin skipped one point for design ui and asthetics maybe u can ask community suggestion for design elements by polls or by allowing users to submit their designs . Like for example design of the chat box , dd logo . This would go a long way of improving user involvement in the forums and indirectly benifit u guys also

Just skimmed through most of the contents, but I don’t think these are mentioned.. so..

1) Screen space optimization: I am not sure, if this is because of adblock plus I am using, but sometimes “your friends activity” becomes a bit longer, thereby pushing down threads.
2) There should be an option for logged in users to hide/minimize the sticky thread, again to make more screenspace available, even on desktops

Pls Add one more feature by which any User can see Others Activity , Like What he is doing ( Example- Viewing Topic xyz…..) ( Posting reply , Sending PM , etc etc)

Make sure that the DesiDime.com servers handles traffic on Amazon.in treasure hunt!

A very small improvement suggestion, maybe everyone does not need this.

There should be option of “read all” in inbox section in app.

And the inbox in app and web should be in sync, once we read sms in web, it should also mark read in app and vice versa.

I don’t know if this is possible or has been suggested but as I haven’t seen it or read something, I’m gonna suggest.
So request is for a “feed” system. I’ll explain it.
I know of 2 ways to look for deals.
1) Through the desidime.com site
2) Through desidime forums
And I prefer the latter. Now a LOT of deals are posted daily, and it is almost impossible to go through all of them. Due to this, people miss out on many non-popular deals (popular ones are in the front so it isn’t easy to miss them) which which might have benefited them. Now what I’m gonna suggest doesn’t make it possible to go through all of the deals, but it certainly helps a lot.

So currently I go to the Hot Deals subforum, look at the threads, ignore the ones I’m not interested in, open the ones I am interested in and then move on to the next page. This is not a fast process as those threads which I’m not interested in are always there in the front (of course as people comment there) and take up space (from my perspective). Also in the meantime that I finish one and move on to the next page, some threads receive replies which push them into the front page of the subforum, which IN TURN push the threads I have seen to the 2nd page. This creates a mess (at least for me)

What I’m suggesting is a feed system (don’t know if that’s a correct term but whatever) which is SIMILAR to a forum system in the sense that threads are sorted by new posts and the front page of the subforum is formed by a list of these new threads (along with the sticky threads, which are always there) but the DIFFERENCE in this feed system, the front page of the subforum is personalized and customizable.

Customizable ? You ask – How ? Simple. I can “delete” the threads from my “feed”. This would make the top threads of the 2nd page to come to the bottom of the front page. This would make browsing for deals so much easier. Around 10% of the deals interest me so getting rid of the threads which don’t interest would be so helpful and so fast
This ultimately results in a “personalized feed” which is filled with deals that I like. From here, I can choose to act upon them or discard them

An interesting example is the “Feedback” page in KAT (Kickass torrents). The torrents you download are added to this feedback page. Then from this page, you can upvote or downvote the torrents. Very smooth system.
There are many more example, but I can’t remember them at the moment. Will edit in case I do

Feedback is what makes an individual or an organization strong.

I will be sharing my feedback, may be few of them can be a quickfix or some of them need development.

Version 1

A. I still dont see any method to edit a thread created.
B. there is no way I can report abuse a post or alert admin on that post.
C. Scrolling is not at all smooth, even when scrolling down, it goes up automatically, I see the blue bar has taken so much space in the app, that to read the text or the posts there is very less or rather no space left.
D. Messaging part is still lagging, there should be an option to check all and delete inbox or sent box.
E. There should be way to save a thread for later stage, rather, you have to keep searching the thread where you commented or you are seeking / referring again.

Last but not the least, the app is fantastic, I spend 80% of my time on desidime on app only, but when I have to write long, then I cant use android keyboard but PC keyboard suits me better.

Will share more in the second version.

When I try to go to settings or logout button using pop up (hover over username),it vanishes.
I hope it will be fixed.

For heaven sake update ios app, it’s completely useless to use, crappy and slow. Crashing is a hobby of that app.
