Pradhan Mantri Modi Launches BHIM Aadhar Payment App for Merchants

Taking one more step ahead towards “Cashless India” meaning the people will use “Less Cash” for making payments, Pradhan Mantri Shri. Narendra Modi has launched a new Aadhar Payment App for Merchants to encourage them for “Cashless transactions.”
Here are five things you should know about the Aadhaar Pay:
1. What is BHIM-Aadhaar payment platform, or Aadhaar Pay: Aadhaar Pay is the merchant version of the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS). It will especially benefit those who do not have debit cards, mobile wallets and mobile phones.
2. Only merchants need to have Aadhaar Pay: Aadhaar Pay is an app that needs to be carried by the merchants only. Users just need to have an Aadhaar-linked bank account and mobile phone, credit or debit cards. Merchants can download the Aadhaar Pay app to take payments online from customer’s bank account to their own account using the 12-digit unique Aadhaar number of the clients where clients can choose any of their bank accounts to do the transactions.
Each transaction will be authenticated by the fingerprint of the customer. Transactions can be made through Aadhaar-linked bank accounts (AEBA) only.
3. How to use: Merchants can download the app from play store or iTunes. After that, they can login with their Aadhaar number using the fingerprint scanner. Once the app is validated, merchants can use it to take payments.
4. Security concerns: According to the Niti Aayog, the Aadhar Pay is a highly secure app which will use two main platforms – Aadhaar Payment Bridge (APB) and Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS). APB will act as repository between the banks and the customers to provide a smooth flow of transactions, while AEPS will help in authenticating the online process.
5. Customer benefits: Customers do not need a debit card or credit card for payments through Aadhaar Pay. Also, Aadhar Pay would end the need to have an internet connection, many payment apps, or POS machines.
Aadhaar Pay would not charge Merchant Discount Rate (MDR). MDR is the charge paid by the merchants to a bank merchant for accepting digital transactions through credit or debit cards.

@goyal.dkg forgive me but your illogical comments have compelled me to call you a bhakt. You unnecessarily put your legs in almost everything, whether right or wrong.
What @shoaibmax is saying is perfectly right and logical. For sake of example, suppose that even google is selling our data and we dont know, nothing can be done. But suppose if people come to know this nuisance of google, wont it be charged in a federal court? Wont the person responsible for this crime from google be charged? Even if google tried to become nasty, will it remain the most cap-valued company of world or will its capital just be shattered in one trading session…!! Wont google be presented as an entity by a person like CEO or whosoever and charged for such crimes??
Now for goverments, suppose they are caught red-handed in the act, can you say who will represent the govt in court? Who will be put on trial ? Who will be charged and put behind bars? Who will we be able to contact in such cases?? Or will it be just like that government is an illusion of few politicians being together for five years and once they are gone, their doings and undoings are dissolved too….!! Like it has been with all the cases till now.
Moreover, Google and others are trying and spending trillions of dollars to protect whatever they have. They have proper technology and system. Can you speak of the same for government??

in 1st part you saying google can be sued in federal court , same way any indian party or govt is accountable to supreme court and president . i think supreme court is most reliable , also in sc there is constitution bench which hears most sensitive issue , so if govt will do this it also can be sued like google .
2nd logic why google is in top . same logic for bjp govt , why bjp govt is in top .
still if you say giving data to google is sensible but not for aadhar , then there is no scope .

Modi accusing aadhar of wrongdoings and criticizing it to highest degree, specifically on the point of identity through aadhar for people of neighbouring nations and similar issues. So @goyal.dkg , can you please take a minute out of your busy typing schedule and explain to us about what has changed process of aadhar enrollment in these two years that aadhar has finally become his most loved one and darling of his eyes. Whichever department he looks at, he sees only aadhar…!!
