Hello Mates,

I have Health Insurance with HDFC Ergo since 2018. I recently decided to Port to Niva Bupa (Reassure 2.0 Titanium) for some extra features.

I want your suggestions and what you personal experience/views when it comes to "Claim Settlement Ratio" and "Ease of Experience Post Sale" between Hdfc Ergo & Niva Bupa.

I have knowledge of policy features and can compare it on PB but I need your HELP to understand BOTH Companies. Because features will be useless, if the company is NOT good.
I have heard that After the management change Niva Bupa is NOT that good now. They take so much time and delay the claims etc.

Which one will be BEST for me and my family?

Please share your views!
Thanks

HDFC has a better amount settlement ratio, partial claim settlement, and claim settlement ratio than others

I suggest you keep HDFC as it has more brand value associated with it and they will avoid cheap tricks (like unnecessarily rejecting or partially approving the claim) to avoid damaging their brand value.

I don't think saving some bucks will make any sense, and online different folks will have different experiences with both of these insurances. Some may have faced some issues with HDFC and some may have faced the same with Niva Bupa.

So, before porting you should have enough confidence & conviction in the Niva Bupa, or else if you face any claim rejection then you will regret your second thoughts about choosing this Niva Bupa. Check the historical data, and compare various parameters (for the company, not the plans). Don't believe in anyone else advices unless you verify it yourself.

and I suggest you to filter 2-3 insurance companies and then compare the insurance plan from them, and not the opposite. Since the plan might look more beneficial but the company may have no intention of giving those extra attractive benefits or have some hidden T&C behind it or may change the benefits anytime.

I have compared HDFC with Care & Star Health last year myself and created the spreadsheet for that comparison, DM me if you need it, I can share it with you.

Hdfc is a general insurance company. Niva is a stand alone health insurance company. Obvious hdfc will always have higher claim settlement ratio. I'm not rude but The comparison practically is of no use.

On paper atleast there are some unique features for Niva Bhupa(titanium) like fixed annual payment till you make first claim, upto 10x growth in maximum sum, allows claims for all hospitalization above 2hrs

Both are good companies. There will be thousands of claims settling every day. How do you know about claims delay?

Right!
I don't have any internal sources but when i tried finding out online, talking to several aggregators, some neutral advisors like ditto etc
I got to know that after management change in Niva, its NOT that good as before.

Management is everything. and Now Niva and Max getting handled by different managements.

My questions here is: which is good company Post-Sale. Hassel is everywhere in insurance sector. But which is best in worst?

Don't ask about the Plan to Ditto or anyone else. You can compare the plan on PB.
Plan wise, Niva has upper hand.

Ask/Search about the Company's performance. Then you might see the different answer.
In my opinion, Company is more important. Fancy features are of No-Use, if company won't entertain it when needed.

I have been making regular health policy payments to hdfc ergo since 2009 without a single claim, since my company policy is handy. Im not sure whether I should also port to other health insurance company because of increase in premiums. Oh sorry I started with Apollo DKV health insurance in the year 2009 and then hdfc took over, may be in 2017...

Whatever I heard about HDFC is good in terms of claims processing compared to Niva. But again it depends case by case I guess.
