Worth it to Buy a Fire Stick?

I have a Mi Smart TV, I watch TV at most 30-40 min a day, but it's painfully slow in streaming content from apps or live TV and often buffers. This is because of old hardware as it only supports 2.4GHz band and that too is painfully slow unlike what you see on a new Mobile.
So, will the FIreStick come in handy? Can anyone share their experience in how good it is?
I am considering lite vs 3rd Gen. No 4K because the TV does not support it. No plans to get a new TV.
Also, is there any other way to fix this? Like increasing the Speed Plan (100 mbps currently) or getting a LAN cable from Router to TV directly?

Fire stick using since last 4 years, no issue faced till date. Recently bought samsung vivid tizen tv, no software speed at all, using fire tv stick again.
I buying a 32 inch tv thinking a model of TCL that comes with 2gb ram and 16gb storage.Does it's software work smooth can anybody tell.
Correction Ram is 1.5gb
2gb ram will work very good
What about fire os compared to Android ? Anyone using?
It is worth it and makes Android TV usable again. You will get a slick interface, a very usable voice voice assistant, ability to side-load android apps and Firestick TV receives regular updates too.
Only thing I don't like is that is doesn't recognise external drives. You have to use third apps to send files to the TV.
Tip:- buy refurbished firestick
Best advice. I bought a refurbished FireStick 4K on Amazon for 1800/- with voice assistant remote and consider that to be one of my best buys!
I bought a VW cheap Non Smart LED TV 32" from Amazon for ₹6k and Refurbished Amazon Fire stick Lite for ₹1200. And now total cost is ₹7200 running all OTT apps. Its been 2 years, running smoothly.
Update: I bought the Fire Stick on Dhanteras.
It works great but freezes sometimes. Added a Live TV App + Already have Netflix, Prime, and Zee memberships. It works great.
Although, storage has somehow filled to 4GB+ of 5.5 GB and RAM is never free for more than 200 MB...
Doesn't firestick remote drinks lot of battery ?...
If u have money just buy the firestick, been using for 3 years, was one of the best decisions i made
