Why online clothing products look like old ?

You get prev season clothes as there is no expiry on it

Sellers will put dead stock with inflated mrp and huge discount

Many timea received 1-2 yrs old items frm Az, Ajio

on the name of offer kuchh bhi chipka diya jata hai customers ko.

recently I had to return many items which were bought under offer/deal but quality was bad, so no use.

old stocks , returned items and due to photography effect ... all when comes to hand looks like old 

Specially from ajio it's too bad. Feels like third hand 

Because they are usually 6 - 12 months (atleast) old and end up with grit on its surface.

There was a brand here in Bangalore - 10+ years ago - (I don't remember its name now, but it was claimed that it was launched by Puneeth Rajkumar) which used to offer different discounts based on the age (from manufacturing date) of the clothes in their store.

Btw I was told that branded clothes usually are marked up 6 times.  So, even with a 80+% discount, the brand will recover their costs with a  profit.

Besides being quite old they're also stored in poor condition compared to retail showrooms 

Never faced this problem with clothing products on any of the online shopping sites. Not even on Ajio. Once I ordered leather shoes from Ajio and they were manufactured 4-5 years ago. Returned the same.

Old is ok, but whether the items are genuine? Many a times, looking at a branded tshirt or shirt or jeans make me doubt whether it's genuine?
