The news in the market is that very few people are watching Shark Tank Season 3. It is not popular with live TV audiences (watching the show on TV when it is first broadcast) and it is even less popular with OTT audiences (Sony has also lost a huge number of direct OTT subscriptions, subscribers who are not part of Airtel, Jio or other plans). The last two seasons of Indian Idol suffered from low viewership as well. Sony was trying to pull family viewers by buying Zee for 10 billion USD but the merger has failed. Sony is now relying on uploading episodes on YouTube with a delay to draw viewership (hoping that someone watching older episodes will be attracted to watch the current episodes on TV/OTT) but you can check number of views of those episodes to gauge how badly Sony is doing right now. Sony is not alone, Zee, Hotstar, and multiple other OTTs are on the same sinking ship. Only JioCinema and Netflix are doing well in terms of viewership but JioCinema  is not profitable and is incurring operational loss for customer acquisition.
