Thinking to get Apay ICICI fastag

go for any "DIRECT bank associated fast tag" that way you will have linked bank account to autodebit and things, you dont have to worry about maintaining balance in non used fastag

I am not sure if this still works or not since every bank asks us to "recharge" the Fastag wallet, but yes..it would be helpful to have the flexibility to not recharge and keeping the money locked in the wallet.
That's why APay ICICI Fastag is also a good option since the same wallet balance can be used for absolutely everything out there. I would've got one for myself, but the dealer stuck one from IndusInd since it was mandatory before registration, so I've decided to keep that one for a while.
I hope there aren't other issues specific to APay ICICI Fastag. For eg - I once read that such users are not allowed to pay for fuel purchases using their Fastag, though the regular ICICI Fastag customers can..not sure what the current situation is.

In Hdfc Fastag Min Recharge Amount Is 100rs , In Icici Fastag Min Recharge Amount Is 500rs.
So Research Other Fastags Before Purchase

In IndusInd, I can recharge as low as ₹1 by scanning the UPI QR available after logging into the Fastag account.
And while Amazon is asking for a recharge of min 200, Paytm is also allowing ₹1. So I guess it depends on the app we're using too.
