I stopped eating Maggi several years ago when they stopped being 'chatakdar' anymore despite having 'Masala' in the name. I found Top Ramen Masala flavour to be the true masala instant noodles for me. However I had to buy Maggi Masala flavour noodles again recently as neither my local D-Mart nor The Central Supermarket had any stock of Top Ramen on that day.
I tried Maggi noodles today and it was horrible! They feel 'bland' and not at all spicy. I made some more adding a bit of salt, garam masala and red pepper and they did spiced up the noodles a bit but still couldn't satisfy my taste buds. I remember not liking Maggi years ago and am not liking them even more today. In contrast, Top ramen have that lip-smacking taste that Maggi had years ago.
Haven't tried Yippie noodles. May get some on my next trip to the supermarket. I am told that Top Ramen are in very short supply and may not be on the shelves for a long time. I am too lazy to go searching in the local shops.
Has the taste of Maggi really changed or is it just me cuz am trying it out after so many years?
Not adding Heavy metals and other poisons after cases, which led to decrease in taste
Instead of these preservative masala noodles, I'll suggest you an alternative.
Buy 1kg hakka noodles or locally made hygienic Maggi type noodles.
Just boil the noodles in water and use.
Then add dried powders(a bit of each) : chilli, turmeric, garlic, tomato, onion, salt, tamarind + any other dried powder you like.
Toss in few paneer cubes.. The end result will be ALOT healthy and tasty than these bland magi
Will try that for sure.
Thank you.
I don’t know which place you live but top ramen is readily available in swiggy instamart, blinkit, jiomart and zepto.
I live in Vadodara.
Top Ramen was available until my visit to my local D-Mart last month. Didn't see it on shelves last week when I did my grocery and was told by the staff that 'abhi nahi ata hai sir'. Same with the other local supermarket too.
the day i ate top ramen first i never look back to any other packed noodles. maggi and patanjali are the worst
Yes, Top Ramen tastes better.
Maggi is still good today it's just that they have a variety of flavours now and to sell them they made the original one-bit blad and subtle. Let me clear the air with some of my knowledge gained in the past decade about Maggi:
The original yellow packet maggi masala is changed and made quite blad which is still liked by many people as spicy food is not much appreciated by all.
The red packet super masala Maggi carries the same flavour which many crave so much so that it's spicy and matches the old Maggi flavour.
This is done to promote the new Maggi and earn more revenue from it.
Maggi has many flavours now: Atta Maggi, Spinach Maggi, Oats Maggi, Besan Maggi & Chicken Maggi
One who likes Maggi can want its healthy can buy atta or oats Maggi as they are good in taste with health benefits.
One who wants a fragrance of chicken dish can go with chicken maggi.
One who wants maggi but not spicy can go with regular one
And one who wants a spicy maggi can go with the red packet
Maggi has targeted all segments of customers by launching new variants which makes it the market leader in noodles segment.
My only favourite maggi variant is OATS maggi as I don't want maida and I love oats in any foam.
PS: This is a food fact spicy doesn't means tasty or delicious. Flavours are gained by various masalas not just chilly powder addition.
The taste dropped significantly after they stopped using mercury above permissible limits. I recommend making Pou chong noodles at home adding carrots, egg, cornflour starch, capsicum
Or if it has to be instant then koka
They want you to buy extra Maggie masala and add it to Maggie to make it taste awesome. And thus for every pack of Maggie you will end up buying 1 extra masala. It's a strategy to get more money out of customers' pockets.
Wait, are maggi tastemaker & vegetable masala same?
EeeeYepp.!!
Bro just what I was thinking. Thank to DD that like minded people connect.
Yes maggie is dead for me since long. I was in love with top ramen from more than last couple of year, maybe it has degraded too a tad bit.
Please try Gippie noodles. I don't know anything other than it also has masaledar flavour and I liked it.
Other than that if you are spicy lover you can go for ramen noodles available in Dmart and online platforms when they are on deals.
Nice to meet you.
1. Experiment by adding a little MSG/ajinomoto and/or maggi masala pouch.
OR,
2. Add bare minimum water, let it boil, then add noodles, let it soften for a min., then add masala, mix, then serve.
I buy expensive 100% rice flour noodles.
Bought wheat spaghetti (dont know Durum wheat or normal) once , difficult to cook and thick. Dont know why usa eats spaghetti instead of maida atta maggi
Ladoo khalo friends.
T - Maggi Only masala maggi is fine rest all are boring. Chings - Garlic , Manchu and Schezwan are nice. Yippee Masala is nice. Wai wai - Try Jain Wai Wai noodles - it's nice.
Will try Ramen (never tried earlier)
@M_K_Gandi Tasteless, taste buds needs more? Maybe you should try some "hot" korean stuff like "geki", buldak etc... https://thebuldakrame...m/
I'll see if I can find them locally.👍🏼
I used to like 2PM noodles but I don't see these anymore. These were already fried and could be eaten raw as well. If anyone does see these, pls do try. I'm no longer a fan of Maggie. But every once a month, I do eat wai wai cup o noodle.
I like nissin cup noodles
I take Maggi and add chili flakes and oregano and chilli powder and turmeric powder and pepper powder. Turns out fine for me.
ovenstory ka chilli flakes and oregano put to good use.
High dosage of sodium
Try buldak korean noodles 💀
Which flavour of Top-Ramen? Masala only?
Btw anyone remember the original Maggi Chicken noodles? Those were also awesome. Then one fine day they reimagined the product and completely changed the taste. Now they're worse too. I distinctly remember Maggi Chicken and Masala tasted both different in my childhood than now but while Masala taste has also changed, the Maggi Chicken noodles got the biggest downgrade in terms of taste, more than Masala
From the times when we recd that fridge magnet notepad?
Maggi is overrated crap. I avoid all instant noodles most of the time since there are far better alternatives like frozen fries etc.
Everything is due to Electoral bonds and direct indirect funds. Profit is always a priority for every company. When they have to pay much more funds then how can they provide us the same quality and quantity at the same price ? They will adjust themselves. That's the reality about many products, about medicine's also ! "When someone is looting a company; the company will be looting customers ."
U can try tops noodles cheaper and tastier than Maggie
Desi brand has been the de facto option for me since more than 5 yrs now.
Mario Noodles been quite good
+
Sunfeast have been sublime.
I try other brands at times to break the monotony, but these two have stayed around consistently in my kitchen shelf.
Ever since the harsh truth abt nestle being the devil and reason of many medical ailments came to light, I stopped using their products as much as I could and have abstained majorly since then.
Maggi is like that since return.
Wai wai was good till 2 years back , now thats also bad (it contains MSG though).
Top ramen is best currently in the affordable segment. Although i have completely stopped eating instant noodles.
Msg being bad for health is kind of seen as a much bigger deal than it is tho, it generally safe for most of the people and there's not enough scientific evidence to support it being bad for health either
Yes it has little more fizz but cost is high for sugar water.
Best is still Glass Bottle for Rs12 or Rs14 in Shops. Same thing in Plastic bottle cost Rs20. . Business
With these highly junk products i prefer buying the smallest quantity possible even if it has 100% premium markup. Because i noticed that whenever we open a packet of namkeen then it has to get finished , whether its of 10 or 20 or 50 rupees. So for health sake now i dont order 1kg bhujia packs at home (no matter how discounted they come), only 10 rupees ones, same insight for cold drinks.
I like Maggie special masala's taste (red colour pack) compared to regular Maggie.
