I am open to trying any brands in packed form. I don't trust local shops as I was duped with low-quality rice in the past.
Thanks in advance.

Basmati is the Best but u are from Maharashtra, u should try the finest rice produced in Maharashtra that is Ambemohar
Basmati is good for occasional use. But it has one of the highest GI (Glycemic Index) even in rice, so not great for daily use.
Brown rice is healthier if eating basmati daily.
Fortune everyday basmati rice is good.
sona masoori for daily use , basmati ony for jeera pulav ,biryani etc. also use kerala style boiled semi brown rice . have to little very little but you feel full for long time. I mix a bit of boiled rice with idli rice/dosa rice when i grind weekly twice for daily dosa idli ,uttappam isage.
Make sure it's Raw rice and at least one year old. Don't buy steam rice.
Basmati rice , sabse nice 🙂🙂
People who eat basmati as a everyday meal are being taken for a ride.(genuinely no offense)
Basmati is an aromatic rice works only for pulav, biryani type one pot meals.
It doesn't have the typical rice taste when consumed with curries and gravies(only someone who has consumed other types of rice will know this).
If you want a rice recommendation, better ask your south Indian friend. The population lives on rice.
Don't eat any kind of Raw rice, if you or any of your family suffers from stomach issues.
Heard from Grandma, it produces heat which inturn causes stomachache and other issues.
Best rice for everyday consumption in my opinion is Ponni parboiled rice. It's available online but I don't know any brands.
Parboiled rice retains some nutrients that would otherwise be removed with the germ.
You can even make pulav with it and have passable results.
Other honourable mention is Sona masuri, it produces a firm grain. Too firm for my taste.
Using big basket's BB royal sona masuri raw rice (12+ months old)
for a year now...
But the rates have become higher..
Started from 550/10kg last year.. it's 730+ now..
Guys check your local rice mills...you can get desi unpolished rice at good rice..those might not be elongated but taste better, has low glycemic index and good for body and health
I was using NAFED, But no more available near me.
Tried 2626, Good in comparison to NAFED.
