I got a mail and SMS just now about my ICICI Prulife insurance policy which says:

Dear xxxxx,

This is to inform you that your ICICI Prudential Life policy xxxxxx has been successfully converted to e-Policy and added to your e-Insurance Account xxxxxxx.

The mail is from [email protected]. I have never heard about Bima central earlier and upon searching it looks like a genuine site. But I haven't submitted any such request to convert my policy into an e-policy or create an e-insurance account.
Is it some kind of a scam or fraud ? Should I be worried about it ?
Has anyone else faced this kind of an issue ? Kindly tell.

Similar to Central KYC, https://www.india.gov.in/spotlight/digi-yatra-n... DigiYatra, e-locker.. it is not accessible or can be shown in the digital form too.. without the need for the physical copy at every instance.

irdai has mandated issue of digitally signed e-policies, maybe ICICI is using bima central as their repository frontend to show policies now

Download bima central app and check all the details and provide the missing details. This is genuine and mandatory from irdai for all policies now

thanks for the replies everyone, there is more clarity now...still I am confused how the policy got converted to e-policy without asking for my consent

@descriptionunavailable From the look of it Digilocker is a government app, whereas Bima central seems a private company app. Do you know if there are any equivalent government apps for the same purpose ?
