What is a good choice for someone with a first credit card? HDFC IOCL CC or HDFC Freedom CC?

A friend is getting an option for Lifetime free Credit card.
Following are the options:
1. Indian oil HDFC credit card
2. HDFC Freedom Credit card
His spends are mostly on Groceries, medicines, Fuel.
Can you guys help in deciding which card should be applied for?

Take Freedom they will upgrade to Money back LTF after 2-3 yrs.

For ur spends IOC card is suitable but it's cobranded card and it will be difficult to get limit enhancement and getting a core card in future. Freedom cards have the worst reward rate but it's a core card. If u have patience, don't take any card now and wait till u get some millennia or at least money back card (LTF).
