The controversy surrounding UAE’s reported Rs 700-crore aid for Kerala floods deepened on Friday when the Gulf nation denied having made any such offer Even as chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan claimed there was no lack of clarity on the aid and expressed hope the Centre would accept the “offer”
Earlier today, officials at the UAE embassy in New Delhi said the UAE had not officially announced any financial aid for Kerala flood relief.
Vijayan said NRI businessman M A Yusuff Ali had informed him about the aid.
“When I asked him whether it could be made public, he said there is no problem in it,” the chief minister told reporters after a meeting to review the post-flood situation and relief operations.

so either Yusuff Ali (which was praised in dd too) is guilty and mislead-ed CM !
or CM himself built up the story of 700cr donation ?
but one thing is sure , in any case , such people can take benefit from such disaster also because whole agenda was used to malign central govt . shame on such chameleons ..
These people were mocking indian govt for less donation from 5 days and published articles all over the world on it , also published article on north vs south india . hope their politics is shining on flood ..
here is side of MA Yusuff Ali -
The Dubai based Keralite industrialist Yusuf Ali said on Thursday (August 23) that he does not know anything about this offer and that he has nothing to do with this. Yusuf Ali’s communication department also issued a statement that they would initiate legal proceedings against media houses if his name is dragged into the controversy. Yusuf Ali’s Lulu Group has already donated $5 million Dirhams (Rs. 10 crores) to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
