I've had a similar experience finding good-quality wall clocks lately.
Over the past few years, I’ve purchased several wall clocks in the 500-1000 range, but the quality has been disappointing.
It seems that paying more doesn’t necessarily mean getting a better product. For example, a 30cm model from Ajanta sells for 500-600, while a similar-looking model from Titan costs three times more. I'm not sure if the higher price translates into better quality, so I haven’t tried the more expensive options.
I decided to try Solimo, but the clock stopped working after a short period and ended up in the trash.
Two Ajanta 30cm round clocks, which are commonly found in homes and offices. One arrived damaged on Arrival, and the other ran backwards. The Ajanta clock that is working tends to go forward a few minutes every month.
After losing hope in a reputed brand like Ajanta, I tried a Rylan clock. It arrived disassembled, with the front glass and bezel loose from transport. I fixed it myself to avoid the hassle of returning it, and it is currently running accurately.
Interestingly, I bought two Ajanta / sub brand 30cm clocks from the UAE many years ago, and both are still functioning correctly. It seems that Ajanta's clocks for export had better quality mechanisms. If you know anyone traveling from the UAE, it might be worth asking them to bring back Ajanta clocks from there, as they are cheaper and of better quality than those available in India.

This one is working fine for me since 3 years.
These are the clocks i had, gold color used to be 350 MRP, got for 289 in dmart during diwali sale.
My Ajanta clocks failed after 2 years twice. Ordered a Titan yesterday from Tata cliq as I had 1K gift card balance in cliq
..bought the Ajanta clock mentioned in the opening link five years ago from Amazon...working smoothly so far.
Which brand table clock is good online many showing china wala
Put some thick plastic between back of the clock machine and wall. Hope this works. And yes quality of everything is a big problem.
No issues with Orpat wall clocks (running without issues for last 30 years!!
No issues with Ajanta wall clocks (running over a decade)
On the premium side, no issues with Casio, Citizen and Seiko wall clocks (running close to a decade)
Note: Most of these were purchased offline and use normal batteries. These are installed in two different locations covering different types of climatic conditions.
I repeatedly comment ever now and than that online quality of various category products is highly compromised as seller focus is more on providing discounts and gettinh commission on sales .
The one that showroom or dealer acquired shop sells quality is different
When i was a kid we used to use leftover power batteries used in remotes in wall / table clocks and they used to work for msny months.
Now we put New batteries still they go powerless soon
So true. My parents still have those wall clocks ( 2 of them) run flawless. We also have citizen bang-bang clock that runs on key.
